Supplements when resting?

I have recently started using this:

(i was going to get some creatine or something more serious but was scared off by the huge list of possible side-affects)

It's marketed as a "sports recovery" mix, containing carbohydrate and protein. It suggests taking twice a day, but is only marketed as a "recovery" drink, implying to me that it should only be drank straight after a workout. Here's some specific information about it:

(per 75g serving)
Energy: 1236 kJ / 291 kcal
Protein: 17.9 g
Carbs: 54.2 g
Fat: 0.3 g

Should i still drink this when i'm resting?
Is it as good as other supplements or is there something more suitable that i should switch to next time?

Oh..and my goal is to build muscle mass.

Cheers.

it's probably recomended as a recovery mix because is has so many simple carbs, and whey protein. the sugar is to get the whey to your muscles quickly right after you work out to start the recovery quick, its not so good when it doesn't get used (the sugar).. there are other drinks out there, that are more protein and less carbs that would be good while you're not planning on working out..

yeah ive read that body builders wake up at night to eat an extra protein shake. so i must agree with mreik, just about word for word.
