Suggestions, please?

I'm finally going to take up the weight battle again. I was reading an article about the Gastric Bypass and how to determine if you're eligible, well let's say I fit the criteria(when I thought I would fall short) so I know I need to do something now. I bought a Bowflew recently and haven't even put it together. Anyone used the Bowflex out there? Did it help you? I used to be in better than average shape a couple years ago. I was still in high school and was proud of my accmplishments in the weight room. I used to bench 370, squat 450+ and leg press over 800. I graduated but stayed active with open gym hoops and such. I found out my girlfriend was pregnant and it fell apart from there. I went from 260 lbs to 315 in the time it took for our son to bve born. We ate out every night and stopped being active. She gained 120 lbs. I have stopped gaining weight but my body is a mess. I'm not huge but too fat for my liking. We were going to the gym but I got discouraged because I was winded quickly and my legs were out of shape. It was also hard for me to get back in the weight room and see that I had wasted all of my hard work. I have a new found sense f urgency to get healthy and just wanted people's opinions in the best way to get started again. I almost filled out an application to go on the Biggest Loser for cripes sakes. Thanks.

IG, the best way to get started is just that: GET STARTED!!!

i kinda sorta know where you're coming from. i was in the best shape of my life then i got married, bought a home, got a promotion at work and lost all my gains. every now and then i think about just where would i be now if i hadnt screwed up.

but then i realize it happened, its done; what am i going to do about it now? i learned from it and i moved on.

get your butts back to the gym and get going. its gonna take time but thats the only way its gonna get done. you have your girlfriend there to support you as she does with you. plus you have a very, very important reason: your son.

what were you doing when you had gone to the gym?
