I'm a newbie and I wonder if anyone might relate to this/help/shed any light!
I have been on Venlafaxine for around 18 months, having been on different doses. I gradually went up to 263mg (yes, a very extremely high dose), without any weight issues, i.e. I was able to lose weight on this dose.
I really drastically reduced the dose but felt terrible, so went back up to 150mg and seem to be happy on this dose. I’ve really noticed over the past few weeks that I have gained a bit of weight that seems really stubborn to lose. I’m the sort of personal who normally can cut back up the exercise and the weight comes off but this time, it seems its not budging…if anything I’m gaining. Not huge amouts but its going up, rather than down!!!!!
Also, I’ve dramatically reduced my alcohol intake. I was drinking nearly a bottle of wine a night, which wasn’t helping the depression. So giving that up has enabled me to lower the anti-depressant dose.
So, Im at a bit of a loss. Im taking less anti depressants, cut out alcohol and leading a healthy life-style; eat healthy and I’m exercising 3-4 times per week, I drink 2 litres of water a day…..its so frustrating
I just feel like I’m getting bigger and bigger.
HELP!!
