Sudden increase in appetite?

hey, for the past week, my appetite/hunger has almost doubled, and i have changed nothing, been on the same diet for about a month (no fad diet, just healthy stuff with a 500-1000 calorie deficit). i did practice some pretty unhealthy eating before going on this healthy diet (including a 1200cal diet for 2 months, being a 220lb male.. that probaly wasnt smart)

so anyways, is this my body leaving starvation mode and my metabolism starting to kick in full speed, or could somthing else cause this. its not really a problem, i can stiffle the hunger with fruits and veggies, actualy im kinda excited if my metabolism is working again after starving myself.

Do you eat the same stuff every day or do you vary it every few days?

I weigh around 217, not much difference from yourself, and I've noticed that if I eat the same stuff daily I tend to get real peckish and munch the odd biscuit/chocolate bar.

I tend to eat 3 meals a day:-

Breakfast: Banana

Mid Morning (nomally 30-45 mins after a workout): Salad with a different meat (either tuna, beef or chicken).

Early Evening: Rice/baked potato with salad and a type or meat as above or pasta with a tomato based sauce or stirfry with rice.

Occaisionally have other things aswell but these mainly. I try to make sure I don't have the same thing 2 days in a row to help keep my metabolism guessing and to keep the variaty thing going.

I hope this helps.

Hey. I was on the "Carbohydrate Addicts Diet" before and I was eating mostly protein and stuff, but I don't really like meat, so I was actually eating a lot of vegetables, which have practically NO significant calorie count. I must have been eating less than 1000 calories, but I did lose 10 lbs. :) That's beside the point though, my point is, maybe you shouldn't be eating such a low amount of calories/day. I lose weight on 1200 calories and I'm a female, so you should definitely up the cals to keep healthy. Hope I helped some.
