Hello, I only came on here to share my success with other people and say that it can be done, though it is quite hard work! I used to be so tiny people thought I was anorexic but after marriage and babies and a drug called Seroxat which has totally changed my life for the better in other ways, I put on the weight and went up to about 165 pounds - not massive, I know, but big for me. My old wardrobe did not exist, but I was happy and just bought new clothes as my size increased. Then one day my husband decided to buy some scales. This was the turning point for me and I decided I had to do something about it.
My husband has been nagging me for years to get some exercise but I hate it so much that I avoided it at all costs. However, I decided it had to be done. I started with about 15 minutes a day on the exercise bike and hated every second of it, and gradually built it up to an hour a day - about 600 calories. I also started to watch what I ate - a small breakfast, salad with about half a jacket potato for lunch and a sensible dinner and even the odd biscuit or treat. It's the little things like not eating pudding when full anyway, having one biscuit at break time, not two, cutting down on the glasses of wine in the evening and taking the stairs instead of the lift. I lost about a stone at a rate of about 2pounds a week, then hit a plateau and lost nothing for four weeks! So I started running, swimming and doing a weight-loss DVD. I then lost 4 pounds in one week, I don't know how! I lost less than a pound last week, which is frustrating when I'm working so hard and makes me wonder where I'd be if I'd gone back to my old behaviours of doing no exercise and eating and drinking what I like!
Anyway, I do look much better and loads of people have commented on it. I've lost about a stone and a half now and still want to lose another 10 pound or so to get down to 9 stone.I now quite enjoy the exercise and do about an hour every day - this is the hardest thing. Fitting it in around a demanding job and busy family life in almost impossible, but I get there! My final attempt to shift though last few pounds is drinking green tea and trying Adios tablets, but only started those last week and haven't had my weekly weigh in this week yet! My weaknesses are defintely carbs and alcohol - those are the most difficult temptations to avoid!
