many repeating that the Mediterranean diet a wonderful recipe for a healthy life, as far a lot of illness and disease from the body. This is true, and now scientists have added a new benefit to this diet for older people, as it also risks the risk of death.
According to the British newspaper The Guardian, a new study concluded that the adoption of older people (over 65 years) for the Mediterranean diet reduces the risk of death by 25 percent.
Mediterranean diets are those rich in fish, vegetables, fresh fruit, nuts, and olive oil.
The study monitored the health status and diet of 5,200 people between 2005 and 2010 in Italy, and researchers continued to follow up on these cases until 2015. During this period, 900 people died.
Participants in the study completed a questionnaire to determine their diet and were given scores of 0-9 to determine their degree of adherence to the Mediterranean diet.
The study found that those who were adhering to the diet with grades 7-9 were 25 percent less likely to have a number of causes of death.
The researchers found that adherence to the Mediterranean diet reduced the risk of coronary artery disease or brain death, and said they increased their physical activity

The guardian is not a reliable scientific source lol, like all newspapers they cherry pick and hype results which are not there. Self reporting type studies are of low to no value as other factors can not be ruled out of the results, there is a lot of junk science out there.
