Hello all. I seem to be "stuck"at 180 for the last week... I started at 190 goal is 155 my height is 5'9.

My diet is pretty good. I try to eat between 1500-2000 calories a day. Normally lunch is a peanut butter sandwitch, apple. Breakfast is cherrios, orange toast with no butter. Dinner is baked potato no butter or anything and a small small steak or grilled chicken... I did have to "cheat" yestuday because I had a business lunch and breakfast .... had a hamburger with fries and plain mcdonalds biscquit and orange jucie. Also I am drinking 1.5 gallons of water a day... no pop or anything like that.

I am running 1 mile a day and walking .4 to .5. I bought a treadmill. I am also lifting on the weight bench ... "as much as I can" meaning until I can't.

So... uhhh what the hell? haha. Thanks.

Not having your weight change for a week is not really being "stuck".

are you seeing results anywhere else? are your clothes fitting looser? measurements changing?

Spend sometime reading the stickied threads in the exercise section for some suggestions on strength training... doesn't sound like you've got a whole lot of focus there...

Are you keeping track of your calories and nutrients in any type of program, like or one of the 100s of free sites on the web?

the 1500-2000 calories might be lowish - depending on how much activity you're getting and the suggestion, which you'll read if you spend some time reading the stickied threads, for a true plateau (one week does not a plateau make) is to eat at maintenance for a bit then cut back calories again...

there is a good chance that you are building muscle which is replacing the fat...don't get down..try taking measurements to see if there is a difference and give yourself another week. you have added a lot of muscle building activities so the numbers on the scale might not be showing your fat loss! keep working out and eating healthy :)

Count calories for a week or two. By my math, 2,000 may be pretty close to maintenance for you, so you shouldn't expect to see much scale movement if you're eating at the top of your range.

Hey, Hello123.

I would agree with most of the posters on here with keeping a food journal, or just tracking your calories. You might want to try to eat more protein rich foods and try to lower the amount of carbs your eating throughout the day. Keep up the good work with all the water and exercise.

I fell into the same thing, i was "stuck" around 190 for about two weeks. I didnt know what was going on, i was excercising everyday and eating healthy, but what i realized is i was gaining a lot of muscle and burning the fat. So like snowbunny said you're probably gaining muscle and losing fat at the sametime. Remember that muscle weighs more than fat :)
