struggle with motivation

Well, I've finally got the proverbial bullet firmly between my teeth. Over the past 4 years I have noticed my weight creep up slowly. I am now the heaviest I have ever been. I'm teetering on the BMI line of being healthy and obese and if I carry on the way I am that's sure to rocket. I know that the weight will only get harder to lose as time (and flab)rolls on. I currently weigh 75 kgs. I'm 1m 74cm. I'm hoping to lose about 15 kgs to get me into the lower end of the healthy BMI scale.
I'm hoping to get fairly good results from the gym and from significantly lowering my calorie intake. I have no idea how many I have been eating but I know that if I change to a healthier diet I will see results.
The thing I forsee me struggling with is motivation. I am a good starter but hanging in there is my downfall, so if anyone has any tips for me, I'd find it really helpful.
Cheers

Hi there
Im new here but ive found a useful thing to do to keep motivation up is to measure yourself, your waist, hips etc. And write them down so you dont forget, then you can keep track of how things are getting smaller even on the days when your scales seem to be stuck still!
Espeically if you are exercising and the fat turning into muscle, since muscle weighs more then fat, but you probably knew that already :)
Hope that helps and good luck!
