Strict diet v. crazy day

Usually I have a strict diet. Certain amount of calories in each meal, only water and no snacks. Well sometimes you want to go out to eat with friends ya know. Well I weighed in at about 206.5 this morning at like 11. Ate lunch of Turkey sandwich and a glass of water. Walked 9 holes of Golf and hit at the range. So I assume I didn't gain much during the day. If anything it was water weight.

Then my friends wanted to go to the pub for dinner. So I had a pint, split some some fries (big no no for me), a Burger (1/4 pounder no cheese, no mayo) and some baked beans.

I figure I could of had the 3 meat plate but I was good. Came home decided to weigh in and I'm coming in at 209.8. It's like wtf did all that come from??? Honestly I didn't snack or anything. My turkey sandwich for lunch is 2 slices of bread and a slice of turkey bologna and a handful of popcorn and a glass of water. That's all I had until the pub.

weighing yourself at the beginning of the day and at the end of the day will only cause frustration. stick with one time of the day and only once per day...or once per week...or heck, one a month if it suits your fancy. the scale is not the end all, be all of weight loss. i would be crying by now if thats all i ever looked at.

I know for sure that I have cried because of the stinking scale. Well maybe not cried as much as wanted to kick things into the next century. The other poster was right though...you will normally always be heavier in the middle of the day. Your weight will fluctuate through the day..that is normal. I usually only weigh first thing in the morning. Of course this is when I always get my lowest weight.

heh 3lb in a day is normal. I know ive lost if i weigh the same in the evening as i did in the morning!

You should read this, it will help a lot: The Scale Mentality.

I agree with *tiffiany* about weighing yourself at certain time of day; I know I've got frustrated when I've weighed at two different times, to then go back the next day and be at the original weight. I'm also not a fan of weighing myself every day because I end up getting obsessed over it, but that may just be a personality thing xP

Maybe it was poop. It can give you up to 5 pounds. :)

(I didn't just make that up--it came from Fitness magazine. Also the other posters were right about water. It could be clothes. I can't remember the whole list of random stuff that affects your weight, but it was pretty long. Have fun!)

Wait u weighed yourself at the end of the day when the food was still in your tummy? Or that was your weight at the next am weigh in?

End of the day. Just seemed like a lot for one day. But everything is fine now. I guess I kinda freaked out and lost my composure. Thanks for all your posts though :cheers2:

Understandable. My body is crazy. I never trust it when it actually starts losing weight...

Like it did this morning....

Hopefully it means it, but weight loss for me tends to be like a one night stand...over so quickly!!! lol

Those extra stops to the pub for meals, especially when your eating frys will only ruin your weight loss goals. Your meaing to tell me that the pub didn't have healthy food? That should be your main focus if you can't stick to it

Yo it's a pub. Even if it did have healthy food it probably would taste like the worst healthy food you've ever had. So you have to be crafty. Like no mayo and no cheese on everything. And beans instead of potato salad. Also I split the fried four ways so it wasn't like a full serving. I believe in strict moderation.
