Strength and gains

Hi all,

I was in the gym this morning and noticed two things. First question is to do with cutting. Should you notice any gains in strength and size while cutting? I'm cutting at the minute and I've been going up in weight a bit, now I'm only new at this(so noob gains could be in action) but in general, can you expect to?

2nd thing I noticed was my left side was just a bit stronger than my right at certain exercises but I'm right sided in everything I do, kick with my right, throw with my right.....any insight into this...at all?

Thanks

If you're gaining weight, you're not cutting. If you're gaining weight, you're most likley not losing fat. This means you need to eat less.

you could have some imbalances causing your right side to be weaker. I know I'm right sided, but most unliteral exercises my right leg is weakest due to some glute activation issues. Do single leg/arm stuff to bring the imbalance to a balance ;)

Sorry I didnt explain myself well there..what I meant by gains were gains in the amount I can lift...if you're cutting can you expect the amounts you can lift to get higher?

I would've said no, if anything I think you'd struggle to even stay using the same weight as before. Although the flipside is you'd get a lot better at bodyweight exercises such as chin-ups, pull-ups etc.. That's true with me anyway.

oh like that. It varies a lot from person to person. Don't expect as good gains as if you were bulking, but gains can occur. Some people however, don't get much gains. But if you are gaining, then that's jolly good.

so its possible! I've noticed it in a few of my exercises(deadlift being the no. 1, but then again I've never deadlifted ever before January).

I'm putting it down to noob gains but in general its possible but not general.

Thanks guys(and girls)
