Straight BB vs Tri bar vs EZ bar

Slowly putting together my home lifting bits, and wondering over the benefits of a Tri bar (see pic).

Now naturally I already have a normal, straight BB for squatting. I usually work my tris using a EZ bar at the gymn, but am wondering how the EZ differs from the tri bar. Is there any additional benefit to using the tri bar, or does it merely isolate the tris during tri extensions/skullcrushers?

Versatility-wise...I don't like it. Those are in the corner of my gym collected dust and rust. I would go with a staright bar.

see, I owned one of those long ago, and it was sold/packaged as a curling bar, no mention of triceps. basically for hammer curls.

I'd skip it. a straight BB and an EZ bar should be all you need, I would only add a shorter straight barbell...and only if you find it too awkward to balance a standard OLY bar when curling.

I used one before, but if you want to do hammer curls, nothing is better than dumbells.

You cant do anything with that style bar that you cant do with dumbbells

I would stick with a straight bar for skull crushers, I've never been a fan of those bars in the pic.

Thanks guys, think I'll skip over it, never seen one before hence the question.

I'll just stick to my EZ and BB for the time being.

Straight bar for me any day
