Storm Girl's Diary

Okay, so here I am. *sigh*

This morning I completed paper work with my personal trainer and took a tour of the gym. It was pretty intense and made me a bit nervous. I saw other people in the gym working with their trainers and the amount of sweat dripping off of them intimidated me. I thought, "My God - I am going to get my butt kicked here."

My trainer (Mark) was really great though and helped to put me at ease. We spoke about my goals and also about my diet. Apparently I have been UNDER eating and this has caused my metabolism to get "stuck." So, now I have to add 2 snacks a day and tweak what I eat for breakfast. He suggested oatmeal and boiled eggs (no yolk) for breakfast. Yuck. How will I EVER make myself eat this?

I guess the good news is that I get to eat pretty much the same as I did for lunch and dinner. Just no pasta's at night. I tend grill a lot - chicken, steak and grilled veggies for dinner. Yummy! He said that was perfect.

I'm so scared about Monday! This will be my first work out. I am nervous about flopping my body all over that gym. How embaressing. I'm scared I will look like a fool! UGH!

Oh, and another lovely thing. Mark wants me to wear a heart monitor because of my slightly high blood pressure. This should be interesting.

Will I survive this journey? I have given up on sooooooooo MANY different things I have tried. I feel like if a personal trainer doesn't help me stay motivated - nothing will ever work.

I just want to look HOT again. *sigh*

Congrats on starting your diary! Don't worry about Monday.. you'll be fine. Once you start getting into it, it will become a habit and you'll find yourself watching the clock each day you are going to the gym!

Keep posting.. can't wait to see your progress! Oh, and taking before pics helps too.. that way when you are feeling down about being "Stuck".. you can see the progress you have made and once again feel good about yourself!

You'll definitely get a lot of support in here! :D

Take care!

Bruce

YES YOU WILL! So have I, and yet I think this time it's going to work. You are going to be able to do this, because you are correcting your eating habits, hitting the gym, and it sounds like you're very motivated. You are hot, but soon you're just going to be thinner. I'm excited for you! :)

You can do it! You should go out and buy yourself a cute little workout outfit. At least on Monday you can feel good about how adorable you look while you "flop" your body "all over the gym"! :jump:

Starting a new workout is always tough at first. After a few weeks it begins to feel GOOD to workout. Don't be afraid to push yourself, but if anything is too much let your trainer know. It is your body, not his, so only you know how things feel. There are a lot of ways to modify moves that will still get the same results. Let us know how Monday goes and what fun stuff you get to do at the gym. :)

Awww... Thank you SO MUCH for your kind words! I am excited for single person who faces this difficult weight loss journey. I am motivated - but worried that I will soon give up out of frustration.

Again, thank you for your support! It means a lot!

You actually made me LOL! hee, hee...

Thank you for your advice and your support! I will post an update on Monday after I "flop" around the gym. I am going to be working with my trainer three days a week. I am starting to wonder if I am insane. I am actually PAYING someone to kick my butt! Oh Lordy!

Happy Friday to you!:)

You will Rock at the gym... you will...

You are taking a huge step, don't get frustrated, have fun with the gym. Gym equipment can be so fun. It can be very hard work, but well worth it...

Think of yourself ... you are worth every last stitch effort to meet your goals... just fight your frustration all the way and enjoy the exercises if you can ..

We all have faith you can do it ...

best wishes
report to us how it goes with your trainer at the gym...

Work Out Clothing for FLUFFY People????

Okay... Perhaps I will sound stupid for bringing this up, but am I the ONLY fluffy person that has had problems finding a sports bra that will fit? How am I suppose to work out with my large breasts flopping all over the place? I mean, seriously? UGH!

I have one more day until my first work out with my trainer and I have no sports bra! HELP!!!!!

I went to Target, but the largest they had was a 40 D and to my SHOCK it did NOT fit! Oh my God! How fat am I? I am getting frustrated. *sigh*

Any suggestions where I should go?

How are fluffy people suppose to get skinny if we can't buy something to work out in?

Anyway... To all of you that have befriended me on this site - THANK YOU! I look forward to getting to know you!

Yes! The sports bra thing is a pain. I finally just bought a too small one and squeeze my boobs into it. :rotflmao: I don't know what to suggest on places to go. I guess look and see if there are any speciality sports stores in your area.

Hey miss fluffy :). Dont worry so much, you'll be fine in the gym (boobs and all). I dont blame you for being nervous but you'll have a trainer showing you everything so you WILL get the hang of it. I guarantee it in fact.

Storm Girl I hope you were able to find a bra that fits, I'm really sorry ;( I know that must be hard. I also hope that your training session went well, I can't wait to hear about it. Have a good night. :hug2:

Good morning everyone!

Well, I had my first personal training session yesterday. I was sooooo nervous! My trainer, Mark kept me laughing through it all though. All of you were so right when you said that everything would be okay. Thank you for all of your support!

My next session is tomorrow and then again on Friday. *sigh* Can I really keep up with this?

Something else... I spent most of my Sunday in the ER with my eight year old son. He had bad stomach cramps and was sick to his tummy. I'm one of those Mom's (since the loss of my daughter) that is often overly careful about illness. Turned out to just be a 24 hour flu bug. However, late yesterday afternoon I came down sick with the same bug as well as my other daughter (age 3). We were both sick together and my poor hubby was running all over the house trying to take care of both of us. I feel better now, and hopefully will feel well enough tomorrow for my next session.

I hope you all have a FANTASTIC 4th!

Hun I totally have the same problem,

The only bras that fit are the ones at "Lane Bryant" They go so high in size and back size ..breast size.. you can find any size and if they don't have it there, you can order it at the counter and recieve it anytime in the next two weeks ...
try them out ..they rock and you might like their clothes.. I love their clothes ..they are so pleasing to the figure ..

best wishes

Happy 4th everyone!

Well, I had my second session with my PT. It was harder than the first but I survived! I have also started using a heart rate monitor since I am borderline hypertension. It's a great tool to have and beeps at me when I need to slow down. It also shows me when I am in my zone and makes it easier to tell if I am working hard enough.

I think my confidence is starting to build a bit. I am beginning to learn how to use gym equipment! This is another goal of mine as I want to start working out at my local gym on the days I do not see my PT. Working out at home is okay , but I don't have the equipment I need here. (The gym I train at with my PT is small and the gym in my neighborhood is LARGE and scary.)

Okay, so I have a question. Is this possible? I weighed myself a week ago today and I was 240 pounds. The scale now says 236 pounds. Is this possible? I mean - I think maybe I am seeing things.

Again, thank you to everyone for your support! I wish I could meet some of you after we all reach our goals and celebrate! :hug2:

It is possible, I'm very happy that you're going about this in a healthy way, congratulations on the weight lost already!

Thank you! You are like a little cheerleader!

I started changing my food habits a week ago. Apparently my body thought I was in survival mode. I use skip meals and never ate snacks. I also use to never count calories, etc. Since I started doing that, along with excerise - I guess I lost 4 pounds. However, I still can't believe it.

Oh, and I started seeing a Chiropractor 3 x's a week. My back is so messed up and I would never have been able to workout if I hadn't started getting my spine worked on. Have you ever been to a Chiropractor?

Happy 4th!

Hugs,
Vanessa

Nice to meet you Vanessa, I'm Sara :) Thanks for stopping by my diary too! I know what you mean, I started out the same, and I've finally learned that in order to lose fat, we have to eat enough, otherwise we're losing muscle, fat, and water. I have never been to a chiropractor but I've heard they can either really help you or hurt you. It's great that your chiro is fixing you all up ;) I do have a sore back in the mornings sometime, but then I just try to stretch. Thanks I hope you have a BEAUTIFUL 4th! I can't wait until tonight!

Isn't that the strangest thing? Eating to lose weight. When my Pt explained all this to me I was floored. Sometimes I feel like I am force feeding myself because for so long I had conditioned myself to skip meals, etc.

Nice to meet you too Sara! :)
