I want you to decide what you want this year, how much weight do you want to lose?
If you want to lose 50 pounds, plan out how you are actually going to do that this year, figure out your deadline and make a plan you will stick to 100%.
For example you want to lose 30 pounds before a special event that is in 4 months. That means you have 16 weeks to lose 30 pounds, so your goal is to be losing 1.875 pounds per week. Now all of a sudden losing 1.875 pounds in a week seems much easier to achieve than trying to lose 30 pounds.
Doing things this way will keep you highly motivated as you are monitoring your goals and every week you are closer to your goals, if your plan was to just lose weight then you have no way of measuring your goals and progress.
We humans need deadlines to achieve things that we wouldn't normally be able to do and by small chunking the process you make it so much more likely that you will achieve your goals.
Plan. Small Chunk. Succeed!
