steroid use in men

whats everyone views on steroid use within the bodybuilding word?

i am talking about healthy men useing not abuseing steroids.

comments please?

I believe everything is ok if your not abusing it.

I don't see a problem with people using AAS, most people in my gym are....

As long as your educated and are aware of risks/ sides etc then i dont see a problem.

I would say that most people "abuse" rather than "use" bodybuilding drugs. I have no inclination of ever using bodybuilding drugs but these things are being pushed to kids too early. I'm going to be very controversial here and state the following classes of who I think is abusing rather than using :-

- teenagers/people just out of their teens. You would be surprised who is peddling bodybuilding drugs to teens.
- people who have not reached their natural potential (10 years natty, 1200 total in Squat/Bench/Deads)
- don't even think of any type of PED even a PH until you have a 1000 total in Squat/Bench/Deads

Steroids represent the dark side of bodybuilding and sport in general because many people view them as a "short cut".

I definately agree with you that's it's pushed towards kids. You get people who are like 16 and 17 years old wanting to start on the gear - it's ****ing crazy!

The main factors I THINK should determine on whether your ready to start AAS are:

-Your age
-How far you are to your 'genetic limit'
-Your knowledge of AAS
-Your State of health

I no so many people who don't even no ANYTHING about gear and just stick anything in they're ass not knowing what side effects etc could happen.

But i think if your an experienced trainer, who's done they're research and at LEAST in their 20's - then it's probably the best time (if) your gonna go to the 'dark side' :D

Oh and BB, i don't agree with the total one can lift to determine if they're ready - i dont think strength is a good dictator since some people can train for size/athetics and not even be that strong. I have a mate who's got 18" arms, 10% bf, and can only bench as much as i can! ;)

Hmmm, the gap between use and abuse, that's a whole thread and arguement right there! :)

Oh yeah, and good luck trying to get anyone to talk about personal experiences, haha

Strength is very much a pre-requisite for showing one has not been doing curls for the gals in the gym but is training properly. A natural athlete should get bigger and stronger if training/nutrition are all in order.

I hear there is an expert of the "dark side" called Mick who turned his son Chris to the darkside in his early twenties and this Chris dude has not become the next Mr Olympia. Someone just turning 20/21 hasn't reached their natural potential.

Come to think of it, maybe steroid use should be pushed more. Those JLS guys for a start, and also the Jonas Brothers are another good example of little skinny-ass bastards that could do with a bit of testosterone in their system. Maybe they could give them out to men waiting in line at every 'rom-com' movie featuring the likes of Hugh Grant or Jennifer Aniston.

A questionnaire would be a good way of identifying these people.

1) Die Hard or The Bourne Identity?
Bourne you say? Here, have a shot of this in your ass

2) The first thing you notice about a woman is:
a) her tits
b) her personality

Her personality? You'd better have another couple of these then

3) What's your favourite TV talent show?

Sorry, if you have one then we need to remove half your blood and replace it with pure testosterone as a matter of extreme emergency.

It can go on and on like this, steak or pasta, pub or wine bar etc etc...

I am of course joking ;) (kind of)
