Starting to track myself

Well I've been tracking my food for 2 days now and my calorie intake is way low (like way low). For the last 2 days I've had -7397 calories needed according to my BMR and exercises. I need to eat more but healthy items are expensive. I could meet and exceed my calorie intake by just eating fast food but i ln resisting the urge to do so. Actually haven't had the want for it. I've started adding lean meats to my diet so that's a win. I haven't had a Coke in 3 weeks, another win. Crystal light is a Godsend. I feel like I need to do 2 a days if im only getting 30b mins at a time but that requires me to wake up 2 hours earlier than needed for work.

Hello Adam and welcome to the forum! Try incorporating more beans/peas/lentils into your diet if you´re looking for cheap, healthy alternatives. Then if you grow some fresh basil on your windowsill some canned tomatoes, garlic and onions will make for a wonderful basis for really cheap. Going too low on calories means you risk burning out before reaching your goal. Best of luck!

Welcome to the forum Adam. LaMa does have some very good suggestions. Legumes are inexpensive & even canned beans are nutritious. Well done on making positive changes. Do you eat much in the way of fresh fruit & veg? Adding bananas to your diet would help lift your calories in a healthy way & are very convenient-

Of course, you may hate bananas :smilielol5:

I agree with all the suggestions here and just wanted to say welcome and we're here for you! Have you tried logging calories with an app/calorie counter? I have MyFitnessPal and it seems to have every food I've ever eaten in it's database. You can even scan barcodes and stuff.
