starting over

Well... I wanted to start losing weight in January for the new year, but didnt take it too seriously. I was 220 freakin pounds when I went to the doctor.... thats 30 pounds heavier than I was 9 months pregnant!!! Now that my son is two I am trying to lose the weight so I can have another kid one day without blowing up even bigger.... so I guess I am trying to lose weight before I gain it again [for a good reason this time, wink wink]

Anyhow...here are my disgusting, embarassing before pictures. I deserve all the "ewwws" and "ughhhs" I get, lol:

Right now I am 210 pounds [5' 9"]

Ok 1 week later. I have lost 5 pounds just from reducing calories and not drinking soda. I will start working out hopefully this week if my work schedule isnt too crazy. I dont know if its just the pictures or what, but I think I look fatter in the new ones. I was hoping to take them in the same place each time, but my son was sleeping and that was in his room :)

Hi and welcome to the forum. :waving:

Many people decide to lose weight then don't take it seriously so don't beat yourself up about it, whats important is that you are here now and hopefully very serious about shedding those excess pounds.

I feel it's important to be in good shape for the obvious reasons but, also to set a good example to your child.

You have the ability to make changes........you just need some determination and patience :)

I look forward to seeing your updated pictures soon.

Well, I am also 5'9 and I started off weighing 233 pounds. O__O
I am now down to 172 and still going. I know it can be hard to stay motivated because at first I couldn't even tell that the weight was coming off, but other people REALLY noticed. Just stay determined and you will get there! =D
 
No ewwwws or ughhhhhhs will be found here! Just a bunch of "you can do its" and "great jobs"! You've come to the right place for inspiration and perspiration. Success stories and motivation abound in this forum. I look forward to watching you succeed!
 
You do not look that bad! Your stomach looks better than mine, and I am at 180 now. At least you weren't starting at 285 like I was. Ugh. You can do it!! I hope you get your results as quickly as I did. :)
 
Repetition is one of the main keys to success. You can do it! Will you share your plan with us? I hope it's not a fad diet. Do share!
 
well my plan is excercise (I'm hoping to do a lot in our pool since its hot) and cutting calories. I am addicted to soda, so I have dumped it all down the drain and will drink tea if I have to have something besides water. We will see how it works out! My goal is 180 by the end of August (30 lbs) not sure if thats realistic but I have it broken down into three goals. I am confident I can lose it though
 
Sounds like a great plan. Exercise and eliminating soda from your diet should do the trick. It's not unrealistic. I say shoot for 25 hoping for 30. No need to rush.
 
I don't think you look fatter in the recent pics. If you look closely (like I did) you will notice that the back shot right around the strap across the back of your bikini is slimming. Also, your legs and arms look slimmer too :)
