Starting over- My training

I'm new around these parts, but I'm looking to make some improvements.

I got a gym membership at my local Y and started my workouts today. Right now I stand 5' 10" and 191 pounds. For now, my goal is to get myself down into the 170's. I'm new to really exercising though and monitoring my diet will be rough. When I'm dieting I usually have a hard time getting in enough calories.

Anyways, here's what I've had going on today in day one(keep in mind, I'm 19 and a student, so I have a lenient schedule lol):

Morning- Walked the dog about a quarter mile.

Hour or so later head to the gym-
30 minutes of light/medium paced cardio
200 weighted crunches
5x 10 back extensions
5x 10 bicep curls
3x 5 chest press

A couple hours later- Walk the dog another maybe half mile through the park.

What I think I need most help with is getting myself a good workout routine. I'm not sure which groups I should be working out together on certain days, so for anyone reading, some help in this area would be appreciated.

I remembered that I should update this here.

I've been doing a lot of cardio and going pretty light on the weight training(mainly because it's hard for me to get time to get out to the gym some days).

My diet has changed tremendously though.

I've cut pretty much all the junk out, but I did go out to eat with my family the other night and had a little bit of bad stuff, but overall I've done well for myself.

Typical day so far consists of:

Breakfast: Bowl of whole grain cereal with 2% milk.

Brunch:A few egg whites and a piece of fruit.

Lunch: Tuna sandwich with flax/wheat bread and some non-fat yogurt.

Linner(lupper?):Usually more of a snack, something like a granola bar with some fruit.

Dinner: Grilled chicken or more tuna or salmon, with veggies on the side.

I could probably use working some more calories into my diet, but so far I feel good with how I've been going along and can see some small improvements. I'm avoiding a scale until next week.

I personally dont like your workout. 200 weighted crunches?! Whats the purpose of these? (the amount of reps I am speaking). Where are you training at? Do you have access to a variety of equipment? Or training at home? What are your goals? I understand one is to lose weight, but the crunches will not do this, the DIET will however complimented by an appropriate exercise routine. Let me know what you have access to, as we need to refine the workout a tad.

In addition, what are your caloric totals, and associated nutritional intake like?
Do you know what your MT line is?

I'll wait for a response from you, and with it, I will provide some additional information you made to refine things a tad.

Well, I can see why you wouldn't like my workout. I have plenty of equipment, I'm a member at a gym, I just don't really know what kind of things I should be doing, I'll take your word and cut that part out.

I haven't been monitoring my calories long enough to know the number, but it's probably in the 1800-2000 range. I also take a multivitamin and some whey protein shakes when I feel like I need something extra, not sure if that's what you meant by the associated nutrional.
As far as MT line, no I don't know how to calculate it.

My stats though are 190 pounds, 70 inches and I'm 19 years old.

Bear with me, I'm new to all this:) I appreciate the help though.
