Starting out...Work out and Stretches

Hello i need some good advice for someone who is just starting to work out hardcore for the first time in his life. I'm almost 20 and weight 280 pounds. i tried just flat out running but that just gave me some shin splints ( witch i am fully healed from). I need some good fat man exercise and stretches ( i know it sounds funny XD). I tested to see how long i could run..witch is about 60 secs...so must of the stuff i read to lose weight just tell me to go running for about 2 mins then walk for about 60 secs. Kinda sucks when i cant run for 2 mins.....So if anyone has a good starter work out plan ( that includes weight lifting, I can join a gym) and diet, that would be awesome. thanks for taking the time to read this
