With much hard work and motivation, i had lost a good amount of weight and was seeing results..

i have fallen off however and gained some weight back.. I am disgusted with myself and am tired of having zero confidence.

it seems that i work well with giving myself a time frame and work out regimen to hold myself to.. so im starting again and shooting for losing at least 20 lbs in 78 days.. i'd like to hear any ones opinion on weather or not that is a reasonable goal..

thanks for listening!

I know how you feel - several times I have fallen off the wagon after losing a significant amount of weight. I lost 40 pounds on a no carb diet only to gain it all back and then some! What I have learned from this is that it's not all black and white - you have to legitimately eat and exercise in a way that is sustainable for the rest of your life. Working out for hours every day and never allowing yourself junk food just makes you feel restricted and deprived, which leads to bingeing and feeling guilty, and you end up back to your old bad habits. Moderation really is key.

I know you can do it! Remind yourself every day to take it "one day at a time" and tell yourself "I am in control of my actions". I know it is easier said than done, believe me, but we all have the strength in us to do this.

Good luck on your journey! Hope you will be posting after pictures soon! :D

That makes a lot of sense.. I keep trying to wrap my head around the concept and try more and more to make it just.. something i do.. I'd like to hear more about your low carb diet. thats what I'm trying to do, limit my carb intake and eat more protein.. I seem to have a slow metabolism and lazy fat cells.. great combo.

do you have any suggestions as to ways i can keep my metabolism up? I know it's a matter of eating small meals through the day but I'd like to hear your side on it.. i always have a hard time figuring out things to eat. i feel my main problem is i dont eat often enough.

thank you that's good to know. I try to not create ridiculous expectations of myself so as to not be disappointed.

I find eating frequently is one of the best things you can do for your body - there are debates as to whether or not it speeds up your metabolism, but it definitely does keep your blood sugar levels stable which prevents you from feeling faint or tired and keeps you feeling energized and full throughout the day. I notice a HUGE difference in how I feel when I eat something every 2.5-3 hours. I find that by keeping myself comfortably full throughout the day, I really don't get any cravings for sweets or salty snacks which are normally my downfall. Filling up mostly on protein and veggies works wonders.

I sometimes have trouble figuring out what to eat, as well. The main thing is to stock up on healthy things that you love so you have everything at your fingertips. I am not big on cooking and I don't have much time in the day, so for breakfast I will have something like a whole grain english muffin with melted light cheese and a glass of orange juice if I am in a hurry. The key is to be as prepared as possible - make lunches the night before, plan out your dinner, etc. Make sure everything is balanced, too - your main meals should contain 3-4 food groups and snacks should have 1-2.

Most low- or no-carb diets DO work very quickly, but the problem is once you start incorporating carbs back into your lifestyle you tend to gain weight back, even if you're still eating well. My diet was definitely too restrictive (No dairy or carbs at all was a killer for me), but cutting down on carbs and filling up on more protein and veggies is very healhty in general. Not all carbs are bad for you though - when you do eat carbs, make sure you're eating 100% whole grain. Just make sure you aren't cutting out any food groups completely if you want to go this route.

I am not an expert by any means, this is all just from my personal experience. Hope it helps! :D

thank you very much for the advice! that helps a lot. i have a better idea now of things i could start preparing for myself. thanks again :3
