Squats..what i do wrong?

Hi everyone, im a newbie in training and couple of weeks ago started squating as part of my routine to get a bigger fit derriere. The problem is that when squatting i feel that my butt and quads are not geting that much of a workout, and at the same time my body gets awfully exhausted so i have to stop. Im trying to do a good movement so thats why i started with no weight ( i do a deep squat, almost butt in floor). Any suggestion?

Another question..when doing lunges, is it normal to work a lot the inner thight??I mean i feel my inner thight working more than the glutes and quads..i use to extend he back leg as far as possible, dunno if thats the problem..

If you're keeping your torso perfectly straight and immobile, you shouldn't have a problem. You should feel as though all the effort is coming pretty much from your quads. Your body may get tired if you're learning over and then straightening up with each descent and rise. A good tactic is to keep your arms extended straight in front of you, completely parallel to the ground.

Also, it's not essentially to extend the back leg too far - it's more important to SLOWLY bring your back knee as close to the floor as possible WITHOUT touching the floor, and SLOWLY rising again. As with squats, your body should remain perfectly straight.

Squatting rock bottom is awesome, just make sure to pull yourself down with your hipflexors so it feels like you're sitting backwards.

Try dropping the number of reps to 5.

get a broomstick, practice sitting up and down in a chair with it on your back. make sure you have it in a good position on your back, because if not that will throw your entire technique off.

The broom stick is a good idea but I would hold it straight over your head. As you squat down, if the broom stick starts to come forwards, then you know that your form is off.
