Spock, if I could have a moment of your time.

Whats your take on sunflower seeds?

A partner that I worked with this spring gave me a handful. I used to eat them all of the time when I played ball, but never when I umpired. Now I'm hooked on them again. I eat them all of the time.

Other than the caloric value (I can eat an entire bag and only get 300 calories, but a bag lasts me 3 days) and the salt present, is there anything else that you know about them thats not so good?

P.S. Even though spock is mentioned in the title, I welcome comments from everyone.

I don't think there's anything wrong with them - they're high in E, Selenium, uhh... forgot what else... but anyways, they're quite healthy. But as with all nuts and seeds, be wary of portions (which I know you are)

Another upside to them is the fiber - structural elements of plants (e.g., husks and content of seeds) are all fiber. In a whole package of seeds, I think you get about 5g of fiber. The only thing I'd be wary of is the sodium concentration, but other than that they make an okay snack.
