Hi!

Anyone use one of these?
I bought one today and they seem pretty well made.
they work as a Body Fat Analyzer & pedometer with calorie counter.

Should I stick with it or buy another Pedometer?

I doubt it works as a body fat analyzer - you usually need much more intricate equipment.

if the pedometer makes you walk further and it's being close enough to keep track of your steps - (None are 100 percent accurate -close enough is the best you can do)( then why get another?)

there is a thread on pedometers already -- search and read the reviews that have beebn offered already

Thanks.
Just wondered about the Steps > Calories thing it says it has?

I have been looking around for a decent Pedometer and there seems to be a huge lack of them around for me.

Gonna try my local Argos but not holding much hope.

Seem to be most £1 shops that have them and there pretty basic but gonna get one when they have them in stock just to try it out.

the calorie counters aren't really going to be precise on them because if the pedometer is just counting steps, it's not going to take into consideration how fast you're walking those steps -the faster you walk - the more calorie burn you get...

What they're good for is motivating (for lack of a better term) to have you get 10,000 steps a day -which is good for you.

But you're better off mapping out a specific route you can walk as exercise -and not just steps in a day -by using a site like www,mapmyrun.com and working on increasing speed and distance over time.

make sure that you have the pedometer positioned in the middle of your body - over whatever your left or right knee (left knee if you're left handed, right knee if you're right) the position of the pedometer can make all the difference.

oh man i hate how they say everyone should do 10k steps a day or 30 mins, then people do that and think that they will suddenly start loosing weight. But in fact the 10k or 30 mins is to maintain your weight and stay fit, too loose weight you have to do much more (however 30mins/10k steps is a good start)

Oh I know that.
It's not really for the 10k a day thing it's more to keep track on how much I'm walking really.

Just this Pedometer seems really really off.

Really in a ideal world everyone should walk 10k steps a day but lets be honest not many do.
And I intend to walk more then 10k steps.

I don't disagree..

although with some people - they barely come close to 1000 steps a day, let alone 10,000 steps a day - the pedometer is a tool to help motivate people (and I reallyhate that word but eh - I don't have a better one) to actually see the numbers climb -and that gets them moving more... which long term will lead to weight loss (with a sensible diet... :D
