Speaking of black beans...

I have a fear of beans...I'm nervous to try them. I love brown beans straight out of the can, and I love kidney beans in chili. But that's it for my bean experience.

I've been perusing recipes, and a lot use black beans. I am curious as to what they actually TASTE like. :D All opinions welcome!

Well...its kinda hard for me to explain...I just know they're good. :D Do you eat much Mexican food? You may have had some and not realized it.

I prepared mine for lunch today with red peppers, a dash of garlic and topped it off with some feta cheese... yummy.

I just realized that I am of NO help whatsoever and that I'm just rambling so I'm backing out of this thread now. :p

i'm not sure i could describe the taste... they're kind of meaty tasting... the texture can be a little off putting for some people, but i think any bean could do that.

black beans i thik have a m uch richer flavor than other beans - but maybe it's the preparation.. i love spicey, and cumin and other stuff that i usually throw into black beans.

Black beans are smaller than kidney beans and have a little more flavor, not as starchy as kidney beans are...

Suggestion... get a small can of them-- drain and rinse them well.... and add them to a salad, or a salsa and give them a shot..

ohso i'm a know it all now.. :(

Noooo...you're a very wise woman with a huge amount of intellect! :p Now, doesn't that sound far better than "know it all?" :D :D
