Hi everyone. I'm 32 yrs old & married. I've been overweight-make that obese all my life. The good part is that i've always tried to do something about it. I lose some weight but put it back plus more.
My husband is blessed with a miraculous metabolism and he has a fetish for large women. So no help there!
I'm now on a sensible ( I hope) diet & exercise plan. I'm on a 1800-2000 cal diet and I exercise everyday. I lose about 450 cals evry session.
I've lost 22 lbs. But my problem is I JUST CAN'T GET FOOD OUT OF MY MIND. I'm thinking about it ALL THE TIME. The control is going to snap & i'm going to start stuffing my face.
I've also noticed that this always happens when I reach a plateau. Though I'm exercising, i'm not losing any more.
HELP!!!

Are you eating 5 or 6 times a day? Sometimes that helps a lot -- that way, you're never really hungry. Also, the type of food you eat has a lot to do with how hungry you'll be an hour after you eat. Sugary foods generally give you a full feeling that only lasts about 30 min., and then you're starving again.

Plateaus are also inevitable. Sometimes they just take time. Just keep on doing the right thing. Also, it may help to change up your exercise routing.

Thanx TomO for writing in. Actually I eat 3 times a day. I don't really know what the portion sizes should be if I eat 5-6 small meals. Don't want to end up eating too much.
Also I've been really good the past month. Haven't binged at all. May be I need to Indulge?

You can use sites like fitday.com to calculate the calories you're eating. Often when you hit a plateau, you've unconsciously started to slip on the calories. Closely tracking your calories for a couple of weeks sometimes is all you need to tune up your program.

I generally eat 3 regular meals and 2 snacks every day. Look through the forum, and you will find lots and lots of suggestions about how to do this.

Hi and welcome!

I also eat 3 meals and 2 or 3 snacks a day. If you can find out how many calories are in the foods you are eating then writing down what you eat and the calories amounts/fat intake/fibre/protein etc should help you find out what and how much of things you can eat without going over your calorie limit.

Eating more often helps keep your metabolism going and will hopefully keep you fuller for longer. When you get hungry and stay hungry for too long then you'll be more likely to binge. I hope what I said makes sense, I'm not entirely articulate:)

Good luck!! :D It sounds like you're doing great!
