Anyone have better luck going to 2 medium cardio exercises on a workout day verses 1 longer session. Just wondering what experiences you may have had with one verses the other. When referring to two workouts I mean say 30 minutes in the morning and another 30 minutes in the evening. Just trying to find my best route, seeing what others have found to work for them. Thanks in advance.:ack2:

What has worked for others isn't necessarily what's going to work for you. In almost all instances there's an optimal way to go about things. In practice though, hardly anyone can adhere to what's required to do things optimally. Due to personal characteristics, schedules, etc... YOU have to experiment and determine what works best for you. What are you able to adhere to consistently. What leaves you feeling the best. etc, etc

Personally, I like to separate my sessions. But I'm also doing weight training and cardio.

I've found that by breaking up sessions, I have more energy. For instance, 30 minutes of cardio in the morning pumps me up for the day - and by the time I get around to night exercise with my fiance, I have a TON more energy and actually work out a lot longer just for the fun of it. This kind of thing has gotten me off my weight-loss plateau - especially now that it's the summer months and we spend the hour just before sunset walking or jogging through our hilly nature trail. Like Steve said, it's about finding what works for you - but splitting the sections might be a good thing, so you can at least try and see how it works for you personally :)

Best of luck!!

Lack of time makes splitting it up necessary for me. Typically my schedule is weight training in the morning and cardio at night, after working 10+ hrs a day I don't think I could make the most of weight training in the PM. Cardio is a breeze for me at night, I pull the bike out in front of the TV and ride as I watch.

As mentioned before all that is important is to find out what works for you. My program would likely seem pretty light for many here but I shed weight like a "biggest loser" doing it so it works great for me. I didn't just stumble into success, I had to try things to see what worked for me. Actually I'm doing some experimenting again. Now that I've reached my goal I'm going to eliminate a few workouts a week and see if I can maintain my current weight while doing less.

starting tomorrow gonna try to split my routine. I have a feeling that 2 high intensity sessions, may be better for me than 1 long session as I have been doing that for 3 months now. Add alittle twist to spice things up a bit. I will try for two weeks at first and then compare how I feel and go from there. Thanks for the input.
