I have gained 14lbs since September after leaving home and beginning university. I have lost all my confidence, constantly feel paranoid and am always having to dodge photographs on nights out with my friends so that I don't have to look at photographic evidence of the sliipery slope down which I have slid.
My plan is to... eat less, move more. Knowing that people might read this is a huge motivation.
Weight today: 135 lbs
Target weight: 119lbs
I don't care how long it takes for me to get there because this is a re evaluation of my lifestyle and a chance for me to become a healthier person.

Binge eating

I am a binge eater. There are some days when I am feeling so tired/bored/sad/lonely/angry etc etc that I just eat my way into oblivion. I get comfort from moving my hand to my mouth and chewing. As soon as I stop eating I feel dreadful, guilty, upset, angry. I do know that it doesn't solve the problem but each time I do I think afterwards "ok thats the last time I will ever do that again because THIS is how it makes me feel."
So to stop myself from feeling this way EVER again I need to take control of myself. Today, Wednesday 4th March 2008, I vow to never make myself feel that way again.

I really appreciate your support amy thankyou for taking the time to read my diary.
Today has been a positive day so far despite weighing in at my all time heaviest this A.M.
Breakfast was an apple on the way to lectures, I did a pilates class before lunch, 4 squares of very dark choccie before a one hour spinning class (to keep my blood sugar up),had a massive tub of soya yoghurt (i am lactose intolerant) then went for a nice long walk to cool down all my muscles and stop me aching like crazy in the morning. I walked for about an hour and its very hilly here where I live so this will help with project thighs of steel!
Now I am just drinking lots and lots of water to replenish all that sweat I dripped out at the gym and I am also waiting for tea time because it's served at 5pm (in 20 minutes!)
I'm not going to snack before tea - I am going to wait.
I am going to make healthy choices for my tea such as plenty of vegetables/salad, low fat protein such as fish or chicken or beans and a wholegrain form of carbohydrate such as brown pasta or a jacket potato. I will drink lots of water during tea. I will not need to eat after tea as I will be refuelled sufficiently and my body does not need anything else as I am not going out tonight.
Tomorrow I have booked myself into a 7.30am spinning class at the gym (eek!)

breakfast: 1.5 cups bran flakes and soya milk
45 minutes spinning
snack: apple
1 hour body max fitness class
dinner: a sandwich or a salad
lectures
tea: veggies/protein/wholegrain

I've calculated that I need to be eating 1600kcal or less per day in order to lose at least one pound per week with the activity level I am currently at. I am going to use Fitday to calculate calories consumed vs calories burnt. I'm pretty sure I eat more than I think I do and by logging it into the fitday system it will keep in check that im not taking in more than I need!

Yes! SUGAR IS A DRUG! Sometimes, I can have an addicts obsession with sugar. It starts off with just one ... but, then I think what's the problem with just another sweetie? And, I play this game until I've eaten the whole lot! Madness!

I'm glad I've inspired you to try yoga. I really like it! I also enjoy pilates. I think that's because I was once a dancer -- I go to familiar activities. I also used to water jog, and do deep water aerobics (sounds a little old timer), but I found it to be gentle on my body. (At the time, I was dancing 4 hours a day). I needed something to be therapeutic. Maybe you can try a swimming?

I shall try getting up to running.

I'm definitely not a have just one person although I have always tried to be. For me its all or nothing, once I've started I have to finish. So it's better for it to remain at nothing!
Today has been a good day. Healthy breakfast, healthy lunch., healthy snacks, spinning class and a body max class. Now it is nearly tea time and I hope to make healthy choices then too. I NEED TO DRINK MORE WATER.
 
HI Soph!Congrats on your loss so far! Keep Positive! SO I see you do spinning class. I really want to do that someday. I dont own a membership to a gym so I cant tright now. But how is it. I have a friend who does it like 2-3 times a week and she lost alot of inches. And looks very good.

Anyway, You keep it up and dont forget to drink your WATER!!!

Right so spinning class is excellent. I was terrified about going before, it looked so hardcore, but I never realised that you can determine how hard you work because you adjust your own resistance. It really is for anyone of any fitness level..its all about at what percentage you work rather than whether you can keep up with anybody else. I am a littl ebit addicted right now I go about 3 or 4 times a week. I have noticed a difference in particular on my waist and on my thighs and glutes. It's low resistance so doesnt damage any of my knees or ankles etc. I really enjoy it a lot and thoroughly reccomend it :D
And right now I am drinking one MASSIVE glass of water with my breakfast melon.

Today I'm going on a long train journey to Wales to vsit my best friend because it's her birthday. I think tonight we will be going out and I am pretty determined to stick to the clear spirits with the less calories. I am not going to drink pints or cocktails as they are un necessary calories. My other aim is to not get a take away on the way home from the night out as I do not need it.
I am back tomorrow night very late so will probably post after a weight in on Monday morning.

So I really wasnt expecting to have lost weight this weekend. I had a heavy night out drinking for my friends brthday on saturday night and have spent most of the rest of the weekend traveling on trains because she lives aout 6 hours away. There hasnt really been much exercise but I did make an effort to make hwalthy choices with my meals!
All in all a good weekend. Hope youre all doing okay too! xx
 
bad night last night - i made poor choices which is why im feeling like this tday. I had a takeaway after clubbing and I was drinking the wrong kind of alcohol .. wine and beer rather than the clear spirits and diet mixer that I usually drink now. But I ad a really fun night so I dont want to take away from the memories of that by wallowing in regret. I will get back on the horse today - I have a step class and a fab ab clas a little bit later and I think I might go for a swim tonight.
 
Hey Soph!! Sorry you feel so bad today. Cheer up, and like you said You gonna do better. Start your day off new. Keep positive. And yeah, you still gotta beable to enjoy life.

ive gone up a little bit today but I know the reasons why and I expected it so I'm fine about it. I still need to keep drinking more water (thankyou miss jelly belly - keep drilling it into me haha)

i have tonsilitis and i feel rough as a dog
i have had it for 3 days now but the doctors couldnt fit me in until next wednesday.
I'm pretty sure that it will have gone away by then!
