I'm 25 years old, about 6'3 and I weigh 285 pounds. I've always been overweight, and though it sucks, I've never really ever put any effort in whatsoever to exercise. I usually keep myself busy behind the computer all day and eat fast food regularly. With that in mind I have a few questions:
1] There are nights when I'll be working at my computer with a soft drink of some sort, just periodically drinking it all night. But there are other nights where all I have is water. The bottled water I buy is from this company: . When I continuously drink it all night, I tend to get a very very bad headache. Is this a sign of bad water, or is it a sign of maybe overhydration, or something else? It never really made sense to me why water would make me feel so bad when everywhere I read its supposed to be "healthy" to drink in large quantities. I also tend to feel thirstier when I am drinking a lot of water than I do when I am drinking a lot of soda.
2] If I am merely maintaining my weight right now at 285 pounds while not exercising at ALL, would I need to make drastic changes to my lifestyle in order to lose weight or could I just do some kind of exercise once a day for an hour or so to see some results?
3] My stomach is where my weight really shows right now and I'd really like to cut it down some. Would I be better off going for long walks or hitting the gym with some exercise equipment? The place I live at has a fitness center and there is some equipment there I could be using.
4] When I was in middle school, I started developing asthma when the pollen would come out in large quantities during the spring. After recovering from it when the pollen went away, over the years I started to notice I'd have trouble breathing after running for a while. People (parents, doctor) always tell me this is related to my weight but like I said before, I've always been overweight and I never had asthma trigger while running until I started having those allergic reactions when I was younger. If what they say is true, if I were to lose weight my asthma symptoms would fade as well. Is this true?
Thanks for any answers.
