Some advice please.

I devised for myself a simple work out because i got to a point where i was around 17 stone. I have been doing this routine for a while now and lowered my weight to around 15 stone last time i checked but i have an important question, when should i rest my body ?

I won't pretend to know the terminology of the things i do in the routine but it's something like this -

Warm up.
A series of movements with Nunchaku, each to the count of 10, single and double Nunchaku (around 10 mins).
Lift barbell, 2 sets of 10.
A series of movements such as invisible skipping, side to side 'skipping' ala Bruce Lee, run on spot.
Lift barbell, 2 sets of 10, different lift.
Etc...
Etc...
Finish with 10 minute Nunchaku movement sets.

Overall it takes around 40 minutes and i have been doing this every day but i read somewhere that you should exercise 1 day, rest 1 day, exercise 1 day and so on but i think this just applies to body builders ? I changed my diet drastically too so that helped, i am one of those that can quite comfortably eat a large family sized packet of crisps and chocolate in one sitting ha,ha, now i usually just have cereal, peanut butter sandwiches, fruit and Quorn for the Protein.

So, yes, i am ok doing this everyday or should i 'take days off' as it where ?

Thanks.

Taking a few days or a week off may be just what you need to get back to your workouts with more energy and enthusiasm. Remember, you don't have to be completely inactive and, in fact, this may be the perfect time to try activities you usually don't have time for. Leave the routine and the heart rate monitor at home and try:

• Taking a long walk
• Trying a yoga or Pilates class
• Stretching
• A long, easy bike ride
• Tossing a football or frisbee
• Leisurely working in the yard

Keep in mind that there’s no hard and fast rule about how many rest days to take or when to take them. The key is to listen to your body for signs of overtraining and to your mind for signs of boredom or exhaustion.
