So how much food do you need?..

I'm 18 260lbs, trying to burn the fat away. Currently I'm doing 45 minutes of weight training (upper and mid body), and 30 minutes of cardio (lower body with bike and stair climber). And I'm not sure on what kind of intake I should have... I want to be able to keep my muscles in tip top shape (and avoid catabolism), as well as reduce my calorie intake to loose the weight. Another problem that comes out of this is how much calories should I reduce from my diet? If I don't eat enough my metabolism will slow down, which is what I don't want. So I'm guessing there is a balance some where.

theres many formulas you could do to figure out how much you need, how much you burn, how much will get you from here to pluto but i dont care for any of that.

IMO, tracking your calories and your stats will tell you whats happening and what you need to do next. for example, i was eating 3200 calories a day when i began to work on my bodyfat %. i dropped roughly 300 calories and in 2 weeks i will check my bodyweight and bodyfat %. how i did over the last 2 weeks will tell me if i need to stay where i'm at, add more or drop more. :)

not that much but enough. like if you see you made no progress, then drop some more calories or up your energy output.

if you see you your bodyfat % went up which is the complete opposite of what we want but it happens sometimes, then of course drop more calories or up your energy output.

and of course if you made good progress, i stay where i'm at and go another 2 weeks.

:)
