Snacking food during weight loss?

I normally eat 3 meals a do, but sometimes I eat a snack in between breakfast and lunch to keep me not hungry... or after lunch to hold me until dinner.

This week I lost 9 pounds, eating breakfast (bagel on cream cheese w/ water)
Lunch( School lunch Turkey wrap or hoagie w/ milk)
Dinner (Salads mostly, one day I ate 2 eggs and some tuna)

But sometimes I eat a nature Valley Sweet and Salty bar. (6 come in a box, and I have on left, so I think this week I might just cut the snacks out all together)

I just eat 3 medium meals a day mostly and drink water. I dont like snacking much, and I don't like to eat 5 small meals a day. I really can't, because of school lunch anyways.

9 seems a little high to me also. I'm not saying you didn't lose the weight, but if it were me I'd think there was some kind of flux rather than actual weight loss.
I am still confused as to what your original question was.

It's highly unlikely that you lost 9lb of fat in one week - unless you currently weigh over 500 lbs and have cut your diet that drastically.

I'm wondering if you weighed at the same time of day, wearing the same clothes, on an empty stomach. Otherwise, any reading you get will be skewed by the weight of your clothing, what you've had to eat and drink, etc.

It is possible for some women to gain/drop 5-10 lbs in a week about the time of their periods. Some women retain water like crazy (I'm one of them) and will see a significant change in the scale at that time. But that's not fat, that's water weight, which is variable.

Perhaps you could post more about yourself, your current weight/height/sex/age, what you do for exercise, etc. ?

All I asked is..."if its ok to snack during weightloss" ....
9 pounds in a week...not hard.

My friend lost 80 pounds this school year and started off around 10 pounds the first week.
I really don't feel like having anymore questions asked about me losing 9 pounds...

I'm beginning to feel like a broken record.

When you put something out there on a public forum, you don't get to say who or what they get to respond to. Sorry - that's not the way it works.

It's one thing to ask that people address your original issue - that's fine. But you can't demand that people not ask you about something you've said.

As far as snacking, why wouldn't it be ok during weight loss?

You didn't even pull that quote out of your original post. You shouldn't be upset about people questioning your topic when your post is confusing at best.

9 pounds in a week? NOT hard? Surely, you can't be serious. Unless you eat absolutely nothing for an entire week and run 10 miles a day so you sweat off a bunch of extra weight, losing 9 lbs in a week is VERY hard.

I busted my ass all last summer to drop 60 lbs and the most amount of weight I lost in one week was right around 5 lbs. And, that only happened once, maaaaaybe twice. Not hard to lose 9 lbs in a week? That's seriously the funniest shit I've read all day. And, I read a Marmaduke cartoon this morning. He was stuck in the car and, HA...see, he couldn't get the...HAHAHA, because of his paws and HAHAHAHA...oh man, I guess you had to see it. But, the point remains - that is just a hilariously incorrect thing to say.

I'd guess that half of that is water-weight alone. I know I fluctuate 2-5 lbs. a day depending on what I've been eating/drinking.

Snack on!

I've often seen a "snack" as kind of a crack filler in the diet.

If It's 3 i the afternoon and I'm hungry and I feel my blood sugar taking a nose dive then I will certainly grab a piece of fruit to fill in the crack.

Like cracks though, I find them here and there. Sometimes I don't feel the need to eat something between meals so I don't and it saves me the calories.

In the end I would snack when you need to but don't make it a habit and eat just because. i've always had much greater success when I follow my hunger rather than a set eating schedule.

Ha! That actually made me laugh at my computer, awesome.
