small pouch since my first born

I need some help/advice to reduce the small pouch I have since my first baby was born.

I am 5 - 5" and was 126 lbs before pregnancy. Went all the way to 144 lbs by 9 months and currently at 130lbs. I now want to get rid of the pouch and the last 4 pounds. Please help!!

I jog 30 mins, 5 days a week. Eat a healthy diet and do some weights to tone up the muscles of my arms and shoulders. May be you can include some nice muscle toning exercise for the arms.

Thanks..

c'mon you all... say something..

May be I need to rephrase the problem..

By POUCH I meant a flabby abdomen. But this flabbiness is there only in the lower abdomen(below the navel).

Please suggest some good exercises for a flatter abdomen. Jogging have not helped so far. Stomach crunches have only reduced the upper abdomen. No luck with the lower abdomen so far...

Leg raises tend to affect the lower abs. You can do them lying on the floor, on a bench, or best hanging from a chinning bar. Bicycles combine leg raises with crunches for a very effective over all ab workout. Bicycles start lying flat on the floor with your hands clasped bethind your neck. Bring your left knee to your right elbow then return to flat on the floor. Next rep bring your right knee to your left elbow. Start with 15-20 reps and gradually increase to 100's of reps.

Not to play devils advocate - but are you sure the pouch is fat not skin??? I know my problem is loose skin from BIG babies...no exercise in the world will get rid of that :(

Good luck to you. :)

thanks dswithers.. Will start on that very soon..

and BasketLady.. I don't know if it's fat or skin? How to tell? I guess you mean if it is fat it will be easier to get rid off?

Daisy - yes...if it is fat, you can work it off -- if it is skin you can't :(

It took me a while to get rid of the fat and realize all that was remaining was skin (waterfall-like loose skin -- very attractive :(). You can ask your doctor if you are unsure of which you have.

The bonus to knowing is you then can figure out how to deal with it - if it's fat work it off - if it's skin either just live with it, or call the plastic surgeon ;)

Good luck.

hey dswithers.. I tried the bicycles you suggested. After the exercise the mid abdomen burns. There is no burning in the lower abdomen though. Is it supposed to be like that? May be I am not doing it correctly. If you happen to have any animated pictures for this exercise, then do post them.

Thanks in advance.

:( feelin' ur pouch pain...big babies will do it to u...and so will c-sections....
