Six Pack/Bigger Arms

Hello people - i started this journey last year: have a read: http://training.fitness.com/weight-loss/six-pack-question-35865.html

Right now i'd like to progress to see my arms a little bigger/defined i suppose. I've gone literally from only being able to do 5 push ups to 30. I was quite impressed thinking "somethings working"

I'm lifting lets call them dumbells 3kg a piece - 20 times. up and down both sides - erm..thats pretty much all im doing. Is this doing anything?

where can i go from here?

With the dumbells matey you will need a heavier wait. if your trying to build try a 5x5 routine. 5 reps and 5 sets :)

Hope I helped...

I read your previous post, and the advice you were given still stands.

Do you have access to any other weights apart from 3kg dumbells?

What is your diet like?

You need to post up everything you are doing, along with everything you`re eating.

You`re 5ft 10 at 140lbs,in my view that extremely light, and it sounds that you need to pack on some muscle,i`m not trying to be harsh but if you had any you would have a sixpack.

Did you read the stickies as was advised by Typhon???

Maybe post up a couple of pics.

If you supply this info i promise you`ll get more informative and well educated answers to your questions.

Good luck

erm.. this is going to sound bad but what does 5x5/ 5 reps and 5 sets mean?

I could get a heavier weight by taking off one dumbell and putting it on the other so 5kg

i can access 5/6kg weight. I'd like to put on some muscle - i hope im in the right place to work on how to do that:)

Whats my diet like? erm.. 10am, two weekabix and milk in the morning, some water, 2hrs later a brown wholemeal roll with no butter and a slice of turkey breast, more water, 2hrs later an apple and some water, in the evening erm...that varies, sometimes steak, sometimes fish, sometimes just another bowl of three weetabix and milk, more water, i don't eat anymore after 7pm

After my main meal i walk/run for about 30/40 minutes which goes up to 2/3miles - sometimes in that 3 miles i switch it up with running for 10 minutes at 6mph, inclines etc.

Yes this would be ok because for most arm exercises you only need one dumbell. Reps are how many times you lift the weight so you would life it 5 times then have a 30-60 second break. You then lift another 5 times. When you have done your first 5 reps this is one set.

Dammm - 6kg is heavy, i'm working on 5kg's it's heavy, but slightly easier than 6kg :)

I done five up and down each side - thats correct yeah?

Dips and pullups are probably going to help your upper body both scuplt and bulk more than any other two exercises. They both work an insane amount of muscles, including your entire core.

Good job increasing your push-ups.

Problem I see is the post title Six Pack/Bigger Arms, this is like saying you want to be the world champion in the bench press and marathon.

Getting a 6pack (unless you've got tremendous genetics or are very skinny) is all about calorie depletion and arms don't get bigger w/ calorie depletion.

You're right, i suppose its not bigger arms, but just a little defined is what im looking for.
When i tense i can see the 4/6 @ a push so im near enough their - anyway regardless of that - im feeling great, i can run around and not get out of breath - its strange how a little discipline, healthy eating/cheat meals every now and then - can get you!
