Six Pack Abs

Hi All,

I am new to this forum. I am 5 feet and 6 inches tall and was weighing 80 kilograms. since last 90 days I had been working out a lot with a determination that I will be able to build up six-pack abs. though I have lost 10 kilograms in the process but I am not sure if I will be able to reduce the fats around my waist. My Gym Trainer not a personal one keeps me telling to take steroids for better results and fast building of abs and to reduce fats effectively. as I do not know much about these things and possibly with a lot googling and bit sceptical in making a decision.

My question is that will I be able to reduce fat around my waist basically by exercising and not taking steroids. if the answer is no then I want to know which kind of steroids really helps and how is the dosage and frequency. I cant afford for a personal trainer training me to get ripped abs and I want your help and if possible please guide me to stay focused. please help me understand if a guy like majority of fats around the waist can really dream of having six pack. I will try to do everything possible and also really work hard to get my dream job done.

But one thing is clear that before I die I need to have six packs.

Regards
Dash

Some questions, then some answers.

How old are you.
What training are your doing? more importantly enjoying?
What other aims do you have? or is this the only one?

Yes you can get a 6 pack without roids, I had one for a number of years to the extent they showed a bit when relaxed and deep cut with little effort. Now I can pose one up but relaxed they are a 1 pack because I have accepted aesthetic loss for functional gain. I have been training a few decades and have always been 'natural' in terms of not injecting intra-muscular hormones. Though I question the term natural having watched a lot of nature and never seen anything get hold of bits of metal and start lifting them for fun.
You are willing to work at this evidently but you will need to be aware of a few basic facts before going fully into this.
Fat is 3,500 calories a pound, and there is no way to spot train it. So to get to the low body fat needed for a pretty 6 you will be having to think about how the rest of you will look. One of my exes used to like my body looking lean but my face is so angular and harsh that this meant I looked quite a nasty piece of work when I was in the lower end of this, the face is visible a lot more often than your torso. If you are looking at needing to lose 10 pounds around your torso that will be a lot more weight to loose overall than just 10 or even double this.
Building abs doesn't make them show. They have to be there but it's the body fat levels which make them visible. Google WSM Big Z and you will see a man with abs stronger than anyone you will likely ever meet in your life, but you won't see a 6 pack. Abs like his are useful if you want to pull trucks etc. not pose on the beach.
This process takes time, commitment and will take over your life. If you need to lose fat the maximum loss a week you should aim for is 2 pounds, more than this will risk starvation zone and undo your hard work. This means you will take at least half the amount of weeks that you have pounds of excess body fat to get your target and in reality this could easily be more.
Point to consider. If you have a gym instructor who is declaring you can't achieve without roids, find another one. Training at peak on roids will give faster results and take you further than you could go naturally training at peak, that's why so many top athletes are using them, declared or otherwise. There is a difference between slower gains and no gains, and anyone who can't advise you on a decent program without them is a waste of your time.
As a long term natural trainer I have watched people use the gear for a while then quit numerous times. I have overtaken the lot of them by keeping going. Of course for every 100 quitters there are a few who keep it going and they are monsters, people like Stuart Core who I have spotted doing incline bench with what was at that time slightly over my squatting weight on the same rep range. The difference is he was training at the max all of the time, most using the gear in standard gyms are just using it to get results without as much effort, and the shortcut crew generally quit sooner or later.
Final point. Unless you are getting the stuff given to you from a registered pharmacist from a doctors prescription, you do not know what you are getting for sure. You could easily be spending a fortune buying small vials of vegetable oil with or without a hint of testosterone in it.
