Situps with Back clicking ?

Ive been doing situps on and off for about 5 years, this year ive been doing situps 3 times a week, i can do 100 reps with no problem (do this about 3-4 times a week)

Ive always had abit of a strange back (im 19) sometimes it wil hurt but the doctor says to just do back excersises which i am now doing (basically 50 reverse situps (lie on front lift hands and legs up then bring downm 50 times)( half the number of situps i do))

This has been fine, recently though my back has been clicking once each time i go back down on a situp, it dosnt really hurt but , maybe slightly sometimes.

Should i carry on with situps for now or leave it until the clicking stops after just doing reverse situps for a few weeks?

i want still to keep my chest toned!

My pelvis clicks when I do leg lifts. Try taking a joint supplement. (osteo biflex) That helps me a good bit.. Start using some weights too. You're apparently too good at lifting your own body weight at this point. There are better ways to get toned than grinding up cartiledge with 100 situps and prone crunches.
I'd start using a 10-15 lb weight in your situps and prone crunches and safely increase the weight over time. Work harder not longer bro. Hope this helps. Keep up the discipline!

Thanks for the advice, ill have to get hold of some weights see if that works, any advice on the number of reps i should be doing, or should i just build up a pace i can keep up with ?

Thanks all the same

I wouldn't do more than 15 weighted situps, if you can do more situps (safely), then you need to increase the weight.
Just don't slack off too much between sets. Make it burn really good. Goodluck.

Hmmm i have the SAME problem. back clicking when doing Full sit ups.
My back doesn't click when im doing crunches though. It usually happens when im doing full situps. -__-

maybe it is lower back weakness. if so, you could improve lower back strength with deadlifts or goodmornings etc. for the time being i would recommend that u discontinue doing sit ups and do weighted crunches instead, which will be less strenuous on the lower back. you could also do sit ups but just not go down as much, although as you wouldnt be getting a great range of motion i would recommend doing weighted crunches and/or leg raises too.

hey man, tel me bwt it, ma bak is messed completely, agony 24 7, however, i hav found that dead lifting has strengthened it up, u will find its a muscular problem, u need 2 protect the spine with a sheath of muscle, also a joint suplement cud help,

btw, ne1 got ne gud advice, 4 gettin rid of chicken legs?

yeah i think strengthening lower back may stop this clicking problem i havent ran into it ever since last time which was long ago.

i have a bone disease in myh back making the bones shaped wrong so im getting surgery. my back cracks when i do anything.
