Silly conversion question...

I can see counting your weight in kg, because it's only 2.2lbs...but...why on earth would anyone want to count in stones? I can see if you want to simplify it, but you still have to divide by 14 to really get the amount lost. Why not just use pounds?
I mean...is it kind of like telling time? I wouldn't say I have 66 minutes until I get off work. I would say an hour and 6 minutes.
And...did I just answer my own question? Wow.

"Plaudite, amici, comedia finita est."

As a foreigner who's lived in the UK and watched Brits for nearly two years now... don't question their idiosyncracies like that. That way lies madness. ... They just do. :leaving:

(edit to add: and it's not quite as good as hours, because they tend not to say "a stone and a pound" like you'd say an hour and six minutes, they tend to say "a stone and a bit" or maybe "half a stone" or "almost half a stone". It can be very imprecise)
