Kevin Smith is my idol. I adore the man and his work. The fact that he is on a diet and tracking his progress on his MySpace blog is incredibly inspiring to me as well as hundreds of other fans. Some of his fans are expressing their concern, however, because he's on a liquid diet. How safe is this?

Doesn't sound like the healthiest way to go about things to me.

But then again, I guess if its working for him... I could never stick to that.

I've been admiring Kevin Smith's film and comic skills for over a decade. He rocks! As far as the liquid diet goes, he's a pretty big guy and I've heard that it's sometimes okay for obese people to use a liquid diet for a short amount of time. That's my 2 cents. ;)

Kevin Smith on a liquid diet! That's really interesting news. I'm currently on a liquid diet. It's pretty healthy as long as you follow the rules and take care of yourself. Although, it's not the most socially acceptable diet to be on. :) People tend to think you're killing yourself if they don't know much about how these diets work.

I am also a larger person, with about a hundred pounds to lose, and would agree with Champ that its a good option for us heavier folks. I wish him all the luck in the world and will probably visit his my space page to check on his progress. I've been on my diet since December 12th and have lost 32 pounds on last official weight in. I feel terrific, look better in my clothes, and actually look forward to a new smaller me.

Way to go Kevin... Do your thang! :)

actually, as I read this his latest post, he's no longer on a fast. Oh well, good luck to the guy anyway. Sad to lose a partner in the crime of fasting. :)

From what I can see, this is a doctor supervised liquid diet (optifast, the product he mentions does have a website, and it's only provided through a doctor), and it's supposed to provide complete nutrition. And it's only a way to jump start things, not a permanent thing.

And I think the Turkey Meatball was a one time thing (we all have moments of weakness)

But I do love Kevin Smith:), and I think it's great that he's turning things around so he'll be around for a while (and, according to him, to be able to look down and see his dick again)

I'm really proud of him. He's been more faithful to his diet plan than I have. It's just comforting to know he's going through the same thing. I love how real he is.

Kevin Smith is a super nice guy, My friends and I met him in a video store in Hollywood. I'm glad to hear about that.
