::Sigh:: Here we go again!

Hey all, Im Kail. Im a New Yorker (Long Island more specifically), 22 years of age, and...kinda up there in the weight. I came here because im a geek and im need the support of others. Now dont get me wrong, im not calling everyone else here a geek, but I used to be one of those guys who spent all their time playing Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing games like WoW and Final Fantasy XI. I no longer play those anymore, and have vowed never to play them again, however deep down I love that kinda stuff. Make a character, build them however you want, create a story, and live it out.

Ill get back to that in a second.

In High School i went to a nutritionist and she advised the Low-Carb Diet. At the time i was 215, 17 Years Old, 5'9 1/2". With this diet, i was able to drop a whopping 60 Pounds, coming down to 155. It was crazy. For the first time in my life, i was thin. I had a lot of help. My mother and best friend helped me a lot. My mother started waking up early just to help me with breakfast (as i hate waking up earlier to make food). She helped cook for me or helped me cook for myself, packed food for me to take to school, etc etc.

I gained all the weight back and then some. My maximum was 230. I started going to the gym, and i dropped down to 225. After my week long trip to Jamaica (dunno why...maybe the food portions and constant swimming), i dropped 10 pounds. Right now, thats where I am now.

Im tired of it. Frankly, no one is really happy with it. Everyone enjoys the ride, but not the destination. Its like a lovely drive with a beautiful view and clear roads, but your destination is the rivers Styx.

So Im here for help...build a character...raise his stats, and carve his name in the world, only this time not with an online game, rather his ACTUAL LIFE

Its tough...it hurts...::whines:: I have to give up eating huge bowls of nachos from the mexican resturant where i frequent ; ;. But, hopefully, with your help...i'll be able to do it.

I used to be a huge MMORPG fan. Although Ive never had a weight problem I know how they contribute to isolate someone from the local world.

I guess you have to think of the world outside computers as the most challenging MMORPG ever.

Your level = your income
Your crafting = your weight

Heh, i could make up 100 analogies if I had to. At some point you have to stop though...I stopped once I made it to law school. Undergrad was super easy and that allowed me to play 50-80 hours a week while still maintaining friends and family (just sleep suffered really).

But just like an MMORPG there is no end-game here. There is always another level!

Edit: FFXI was extremely hardcore. I had a level 75 bard/37 WHM on Carbuncle. That was a good 18 months of my life.
Edit #2: And two level 50 Paladins and a level 50 druid buffbot on DaoC.
Edit #3: And a level 108 OG mage on AC.

Hey, maybe you don't have to cut gaming out completely? just juggle it better with your life... spend less time gaming. if you enjoy something, do it. i love playing WoW. it's just juggling it with everything else that is difficult, but not impossible. :) good luck with your journey!

Lol, i already am not doing what I should be doing with my life, heh, so I dont need any more destractions. I figure the less I have to do, the more I will fill my time with constructive things like getting back to school, and losing weight.

School is good...but watch out...school is also a huge temptation to restart your addiction.

Especially if you were good at the game.

I took great pride in running a guild.

Sigh i miss the pure pwnage!

just thought I'd make the suggestion. school is very important and so is your health (more important then video games :))
