OK, I'm going to try and make this a short story
.
It seems I have had a history of hurting my left shoulder. Several months ago, while doing reverse flies on my bowflex" I ended up hurting my lower shoulder/upper arm area. I came under the opinion that I used too much weight and I pulled a muscle...so I waited till the pain went away before starting back up which took a couple of weeks. I lost motivation, but I finally started back up in November. Then by December the same thing happened. Once again I stopped and lost motivation.
I finally realized I was "fitness stupid" so I borrowed a friends copy of P90X. I really liked it because Tony spelled things out for me...but I soon realized p90X was too much for me...so I broke down and bought Power 90.
So far I love it! Once again Tony spells things out and I'm already seeing awesome results on day 19! Just one problem...
I must be doing some of the push-ups wrong because ONCE AGAIN! my left shoulder is giving me issues. It seems to be more in my shoulder than my upper arm this time...but even still...it's kind of discouraging. I'm doing stretches which I can tell helps a lot, but I think I sometimes mess up some of the push ups. Power 90 is relatively easy and to think that my shoulder is going to have problems with this is very discouraging. I'm doing so good and I don't want to stop. I feel stronger and and push out more push ups than ever in my life with little effort.
The pain isn't constant and sometimes during the work out it goes away...the pain isn't unbearable, but I don't want to make it worse. I don't know if it's a pulled muscle or DOM. It's not really sore to the touch...it just gives me random minor pain some times during work out...and sometimes during the day. I sometimes feel the pain when I'm doing punches in the cardio part of the exercise.
I know no one here is a doctor, but I hope someone here has had something similar happen to them. I hope I don't have to stop doing power 90. But if I must then I guess I have no choice. I'll probably go to the doctor and talk to him...I just hope maybe someone can shed some light on my issue.
