Should I consider weight loss?

I'm having trouble deciding whether I should consider weight loss. I'd like to lose a few pounds, but I'm not sure that it's very important. I am 17, I am almost 6'1, and I weighed 167 when my PhysEd teacher weighed us all. I would say that I'm basically of normal body type - not fat, not chubby, etc - however, I do not have a lean stomach and I certainly could touch that up a bit.

My question is, is it only me that thinks I am not overweight, or am I really ok for my height/age?

I would advise being active to anyone. To be healthy you need to do some weight training, cardio, streching and eat well. So yes you should be training.

However, if you dont know if you need to loose weight then I would say no you dont. But it will only help improve your health.

Although BMI (Body Mass Index) is not the perfect determination of ideal weight, your #'s are in the "normal" range.

A general fitness plan would definitely benefit you to add and "solidify" some lean muscle mass and burn off a small % of body fat but just by hearing your height and weight, you don't sound "overweight" to me.

Particularly since you are approaching the age where you might be leaving the coop to got away to college or the military or whatever....b/c that "Freshman 15".......it ain't a myth :D
