Shannon's Weight Loss Makeover

Hi all! I am a 32 year old female that is sick and tired of being sick and tired of the weight loss battle. I'm doing this one more time and hopefully for the last time. I hope that by tracking my progress publicly that this will be the final kick in the pants to stick through with this weight loss.

I've always been a thicker girl, but my weight crept up to 221 lbs last year. So, I was able to get it back down to 198 lbs, but then i fell off the wagon...AGAIN! and found myself at 209 lbs by early November this year. With some exercises and eating a little better, I am now down to 204 lbs.

So, here is an overview of where I'm at and where I want to be.

--What is your current height and weight?

I'm 5'2 and 1/2. Yes, that 1/2 inch certainly counts! lol And I am currently weighing in at 204 lbs.

-- How much weight do you want to lose?

I would like to get down to 165 lbs, but my more immediate goal is 190 lbs.

-- What is the timeframe for reaching your target weight?

I'm not locked into any timeframe, but I suppose October, 2011 would be a good date and realistic. I have a class reunion that month, so it's something to be motivated for.

-- How do you want to accomplish your goal (what methods do you want to use)?

I'm tired of the 'quick' fixes such as Isagenix, Medifast, Slimfast, etc. Now don't get me wrong, I am not against any of these things. However, it's hard for me to stick to those plans, so I'm looking to just watch my eating/caloric intake and exercising consistently.

-- When will you start?

I've already started! Hence my current 5 lbs loss! I just need to stick this one out!!

--What obstacles could get between you and your weight loss goals?

Well, food! I am a woman born and raised in the South and we LOVE good food.

--Have you lost weight in the past? If so, what has worked in the past to help you lose weight?

Yes, the Body For Life program which only included eating right and exercising through interval training. It was the only time that I made it to 195 lbs and was down 2 dress sizes all in 2 months time. I learned alot about health and fitness with that program.

--Why do you believe that you did not lose weight or you gained the weight back?

Did not stick it out. Wasn't consistent enough to make it last.

In terms of exercise, what, if anything, are you currently doing?

Currently I am rotating between using my stationary bike for interval cardio training and walking around my block which has uphill, downhill, and flat walking. Walking the hill in my neighborhood is new. I just started this week and so far I love it! Get a really nice workout with that.

So, with all that being said, I hope to make this last once and for all!!

Wanted to be the first to say welcome and good luck!! As someone who lived in Oklahoma for 18 years, I can relate to being raised on good, fattening food!
