Shalea's Journey Begins

OKAY last night i made the best dinner but entirely too spicey i need to tweak it a little and will post the recipe on here.

Today has been pretty good

i had a cinamon roll
celery with PB
Watermelon
and left over dinner form last night i could only eat like 5 bites though way to spicey for me.

The non-smoking is going great we both have gone from 1 pack each a day to 5 cig a day. which is amazing! We are starting to go walking and playing baseball to get back into workingout. i dont want to strain myself to early on. Tonight for dinner is going to be SALAD for me chili cheese dogs for him.

Well last nights dinner did not go as planned. I worked really late and had time to pick up chinese (HORRIBLE I know but honestly since eating less and healthier lately it did not tast good at all and it made my stomache hurt) Also, i worked out for the first time in Months last night to Jillian michaels 30 day shred.

Today eating plan:
cereal w/ milk
black coffee

celery w/ pb

left overs from 2 nights ago (spicy so i dont eat a lot which is a good thing)

Watermelon

3-4 glasses water
 
i chose 1400 as my activity level is not really high and i was normally eating anywhere between 1900 and 2500 cal per day. Now as my activity level goes up my calorie level will go up as i do not want to send my body into startvation mode by not eating enough calories



I don't believe it. No way you were eating between 1900 and 2500 calories and have a 113lbs left to lose. Some excess weight, maybe, but not that much.

After i wrote that i actually sat down and did some calculations, to see how much i had needed to maintain weight, gain weight, lose weight

To maintain i have to eat 2700 so i have been eating in excess of that
i am now reducing that to 2200 calories a 20% reduction which i think is healthier being here reading through all the stickies etc..

I'm glad you reconsidered! I was actually in the exact same position as you! Now I'm also eating between 2100-2200 calories per day also. I feel much better than when I was trying to eat 1300 a day.
 
Well looking at i thought that is so stupid why starve myself when i can eat a comfortable amount of calories and still loose the weight
 
exactly - and when you've got a bit to lose -you really want to start off with a high a calorie range as possible because you will ahve to adjust downwards eventually - when ou start high -you've got lots of wiggle room :)
 
okay so i did a huge thing for me myself today.
My work handed out candy bars and i took my broke it into 3 peices ate one today and then i will eat the other 2 on wednesday and friday. it is entirely extremely tempting to eat a whole one in 1 sitting. counting calories as my limit is 1400 made it easier to resist eating the whole thing

What a great idea to spend the money you'll save not smoking on a trip to Hawaii! You are going to be one healthy, skinny chic! Just think how great it will be to watch the sunset in your cute LITTLE swimsuit AND not be smoking while sitting there!
My motto is "JUST FOR TODAY..." Don't look at it long term or it's too much. The candy bar thing was a great start! "Just for today... I'm NOT going to eat this whole candy bar." PERFECT! :hurray:

That is a great motto! i may have to borrow it :)

This morning was rushed so i did not get my usual kashi cereal, i had a poptart not a great start but i will try and if need be deduct cals somewhere

coffee w/ half french vanilla cap 150
poptart 420
watermelon 91
celery and PB 193

I have not decided on lunch most likely leftovers which is about 350 calories this will put me at 1204. leaving 996 calories left to eat.


I have noticed it is getting easier and easier to not eat at work consistantly i have become less snacky YAY for life style changes:party:
 
Poptart..haven't had one of those in atleast a year. They're so yummy.

I found that like you and stopping the need to snack as much, that the more I drank water the more I got used to it. Now I crave it actually!
 
thats right i need water now actually i have not had my morning glass :)

I love poptarts the only ones i will eat are the brown sugar and i have those maybe once every 2 weeks when i am running behind

I swear work is going to be the death of my diet :banghead:
I do so good at home but cave at work. Like when i got home yesterday instead of snacking i did all of the housework that needed to be done.

Any ideas for work snacking i do bring healthy snacks such as watermelon and celery w/pb but even after i snack on those i seem to go for the bad stuff...

Today has been a good day. i have now found if i am hungry and eat peanuts it curbs my hunger i could eat less next time though, and could have done without the sugar and triscuits. but other wise a good dat
 
Sounds like you're doing quite well!
Very proud of you for that candy bar trick. I'm not sure how I would have handled that... I'm not very good at that kind of thing when I have such easy access to it.
I hope you keep it up! I know you will.

Hi Snow.Shalea - it looks like we are getting going on this project around the same time with approximately the same amount to work on. Maybe we can keep in touch and encourage each other.

I have been SO inactive and that has to change. Went on a long bike ride again tonight - that's 2 days in a row YAY ME!!! :)

I sit at a desk all day and work so inactively and my knees have gotten SO bad that many forms of excercise are just not in my choices for now. I hope that when the weight goes down some the knees will feel better and i can get back into some forms of exercise that I loved in the past. Why of why did I ever leave my exercise addiction behind? Well, it was TOO much at one time - but then I quit completely and now here I am over 100 pounds heavier! Time to change it! I can hardly wait to watch the scale and the ticker move DOWN!
