Serious Cramp While Jumproping

I have just recently gotten into jumproping and running. I started running about six months ago, and I did fine for awhile. I ran/walked twice a week, and I then took a months hiatus. When I retured I noticed I'd begin to cramp really badly after 10 minutes just left of bellybutton, and it was a stabbing feeling. I stopped running for a month or two and began jump roping. I have been jump robing on and off for three months and for the most part I've had the same problems. I sometimes don't get the cramps, but other times I do. It's so bad that I can't continue on.

So basically, I am drinking water while jumping and not eating until 1 and half hours to two and half hours afterwards, and I am still getting these cramps.

Anyone know what this can be?

You are getting the cramps while you are jump roping?

You may want to cut back on how much water you are drinking during the exercise, as sometimes if you drink too much you can cramp up. There are other possibilities such as not stretching or not warming up.

It might just be a stich, I get stitches sometimes while doing hard runs, I just slow down my pace and eventually it passes and I'm good to go again.

Good luck. :)
