Hi everybody!

I'm a 21 year old senior in college and am ready to get healthy!

Ever since high school I have had weight problems, but when I came to school it became much worse.

I am very short, 5 '5. and I got up to 215 which is the highest I have ever been. Last summer I decided that I was not happy and became very healthy and got down to a weight of 180. Can't remember the last time I was that size! I loved it, but when I came back to school, stress got the best of me and I spent my days munching all the time in the library.

I am not back up to 190 and am feeling really really down about myself lately, so I'm ready to change that!

Besides, as a dietetics major, who wants to listen to someone talk about being healthy when they themselves are overweight?

I would love to get down into the 70's by the end of the year and I know its possible if I stick to it

My problem is food, I start craving something and my brain makes me convince myself I need it. Addiction is hereditary in my family and I believe that food is my addiction, and I don't want my life to be run by food anymore.

I hope you guys can help me stay motivated and stay on track!

Thanks for listening and I'm really excited to be starting fresh!

Sounds like we are similar in a few ways. I have had weight problems since high school. When I started university three years ago, the buffet style caf food and feeling too nervous to go to the gym alone lead to skyrocketed weight. I also start craving things (most chips.. they are my weakness) and I know that I absolutely do NOT need it, but I have this thought process like "oh one bowl of chips won't hurt." An hour later and the bag is gone.. I also hope people on this website can help me stay motivated and that I can help others.

I wish you the best of luck with this and hopefully we can keep in touch and be support for one another!

Yes, thats exactly how i am a few bites of ice cream turn into the whole thing, I also struggle with eating out, not necessarily fast food, but anywhere. As much as I tell myself I will eat salads when I go out, I see the menu and the cravings take over. good luck though, we definitely are in the same boat. Good luck to you as well!

I did the same thing but it was raman noodles!!! All I can say is let's eat nuts instead... they are way better for you and also un-buttered popcorn is always good!!!

Yes, nuts are very healthy for you, they are high in fiber, omega-3 fatty acids and protein. They are also virtually sugar free, yay! The trick with nuts is portion control. They are highly caloric! And it is so easy to pop multiple handfuls into our mouths like it is nothing. My choice is for pistshios. South beach Diet syas you can have 30! It is also valuable that they are sheeld, as it is work to unshell them!
