Hello! I've recently started losing weight. I used to eat a considerable amount of junk food but ever since I decided to get fit I've been free of junk food and sugar for the last 24 days. For the last 24 days I've been dieting and Power walking and I managed to lose 4.3kg(9.4lbs) in 24 Days.

Going to a Gym is impossible at the moment so I'm going to buy a Home Gym. My Height is 188cm and current weight is 116.7kg. There are 2 models available for me BH Nevada Plus & Adidas Black. I'm thinking about buying one with a 100kg weight stack rather than 70kg weight stack.

My questions are
Should I buy a 100kg or 70kg home gym?
How much weight should I start exercising with 1st?

My Journey to get from 121kg(267lbs) to 85kg(187lbs)

When lifting weights, you want to start on the low end until you find the right fit. You should tire towards the end of your set, say the last 2-3 reps. Each muscle group is also a different weight, so it will take some getting used to. To see a change, mark down your weights and exercises and watch as you increase your strength over time. Good luck.

When you begin and continue lifting the weights, your muscles will grow stronger, and at a certain point, the particular weight which you are lifting will begin to feel lighter. This will happen only when you have gained enough strength in your arms or legs to move on to a heavier weight. If it’s within your budget, the 100kg home gym is a better fit for you, as you will be able to grow and strengthen your muscles more than with a 70kg home gym.

Initially, start with free hand exercises without weights like pushups, dips between benches or chairs and squats. When you have strengthened your arms and legs by being able to lift your own weight, then begin to switch to a weight which you feel comfortable lifting. After some time and effort, when you are comfortable with that weight, you can gradually increase the weight and so on and so forth.

Crash dieting can take away your energy level and cause your muscle building goals to be more challenging. It is very good to stay away from the junk food as you are doing, but be sure to eat the proper amount of carbs and protein in order to balance your weight lifting and maximize your muscle strength. Portion control is still important when lifting weight, but you need to provide your body with the energy you are using by doing so. Good luck with your weight loss journey!
