seeing red

I've noticed that when I do really heavy lifts like maxing out on a deadlift or bench press I can close my eyes and see red. Anyone else get this? Or am I facing imminent death? :cheeky:

Get a bit of a head rush associated with it too. Squats do it too occasionally.

Is this something that is normal or do I need to talk to the doc about it? I've only noticed the past couple months or so.

Probably your blood pressure plummeting to normal/subnormal levels, remember to breath! The red you see is probably the capillaries in your eye lid flowing with oxygen..

I attribute that to losing blood flow to the brain. Then the blood flow rushes back into the brain because the brain is a blood hog -- it uses 1/3 of the circulating blood in our system. The red is probably caused by the higher blood pressure to get the blood back into the brain. The blood vessels behind the eyes engorge with blood and temporarily push on the retina and the retinal nerve. This makes you "see" red. Push on your eyeballs and tell me what color you "see" ...

you poked yourself in the eye.. didn't you.

And yeah, it's say it has something to do with blood rushing to your head. Make sure you breathe.

When one sees redness in the eyes, it is their inner-soul swelled up.

...............don't pay your exorcist........stay.....possessed.

Yep.......yeti's are possessed.

Keep on going Kraken

Now for a non-serious response.

All it is krak, is that me and my fellow wooly friends have strong mind powers, we try and invade ur mind when you lift. We dont want you becoming much stronger.

I bet it all makes sense now.

I had a feeling it was the sheep aliens. They have come to get me in my sleep many times. It's a baaaaaaaad experience any way you want to look at it.

Kraken, face it. You're not safe, either.
