Second half of life......

Hello everybody

I'm gonna start a diary in a couple days but I thought I would do a quick intro.

I'm 38 and the first half of my life was spent being very unhealthy. Soda, chips, and junk food have been a daily culture for me. I own a small business and junk food has always been the easier choice on the go.

I don't exercise........nuff said.

I want the second half of my life to be much better than the first. Today is my first day of my second half.

I quit smoking and drinking MtDew today and began eating vegies. I have no real plan because it's a lifestyle change so I really don't care to overthink things.

I'm gonna do some walking followed up by some running some day when I can handle it. Right now I'm 260 lbs and should be 170...ish.

I will not count calories and weigh food because I wont be a slave to things like this, I have better things to do with my time.

I also have no time frame, it happens when it happens.

Hello and welcome :) Do you have any back of the mind goals you'd like to achieve I know you say you're not putting a time frame on it I just wondered.

Best of luck

Yes, I'm a goal addict with everything in life. My goal is to weigh 175 lbs and never drink soda/fizzy drinks again. I had a very good day eating vegetables, I fogot how much I really enjoy them. I think I may re-adjust my goal book to include more vegetables.

When I have more time in the next day or two I will start a diary and write out more of my goals.

Hey Mike. Congratulations on quitting smoking. I wish I could do the same but I know would gain 20 pounds in the process. I think you've got the right idea by not trying to over think things. Welcome to the forums and good luck :)

I thought the same thing so I replaced smoking with blow-pop suckers and water. I was a die hard dedicated smoker but I still quit.....you can do it.

The trick is to understand that you only have ONE SINGLE SHOT AT LIFE! I feel great already and that's largly due to an attitude adjustment, it has to be done from within first then it becomes easy because you want to. I'm gonna start a diary tonight but so far it has not been easy, but then again, nothing worth doing ever is.
