Seattle Vegan Who's 35 lb Down with 65 lb Left to go.

Hi everyone!! My name is Allise and I'm from Auburn a town a bit south of Seattle Washington. I am a vegan (who struggles with it sometimes) I have been a vegetarian for the past 4 years. I am an independent artist and barista at Starbucks who is going to college for a double major in business and Japanese. I plan on opening up my own art gallery in the next few years.

I used to work at GNC for almost 4 years about 6 months ago but left due to their bad morals, over emphasis on selling popular and endorsed products, and stress levels. GNC was a bad company to work for and take any suggestions from a GNC employee with a grain of salt, research and buy something at your own knowledge not their advice because they just try to sell you what they are supposed to sell you to keep their job. I loved helping people and the interactions I had with customers and what I was working with but I didn't like the company and how they ran things I was bad...


Anyway... :rant:


Main thing I have to say, ask me before trying a diet pill 95% of them don't do squat and I'll tell you which ones are worth while


So I know a lot about supplements, diet, and exercise so feel free to ask me a question and I will tell you what others have said, what I know about it, etc. :cheers2:


On April 1st 2011 I joined up with 3 other girls to have a weight loss contest till July 1st (3 months) I lost 35 pounds and won the contest. Since then I have lost about 5 pounds because I have been lazy about it and can't seem to find that drive again, that is why I am here to get support and drive again. :grouphug:

:beating: What has / does work for me :beating:

-CLA

-Oxyelite Pro

-Diligently eating 1,200-1,500 calories a day and keep track with an ap or food journal

-HIIT cardio

-Weight resistance

-Vegetarian diet

-Vegan diet

-Low sugar

-High protein

-High fiber

-Fresh fruits and vegetables and fresh fruit and vegetable juicing

-From April 1st 2011 to present - 35 pounds of weight loss

-Went Vegetarian (still struggling becoming vegan)

-Stronger muscles (mainly in legs)

-Lost 4 pant sizes


:banghead: What I have tried that didn't work :banghead:

-HCG (highly don't recommend it about 95% of people I know who have tried it gain it back eventually, seriously, you're just starving yourself while taking a placebo because over the counter HCG doesn't have real HCG in it anymore, that's illegal)

-Sensa (doesn't do squat)

-Hydroxycut (used to be good)

-Low carb (very unhealthy)

-Various other diet pills (seriously, 95% of them won't do squat so ask me and I'll let ya know)

-VLC (very low calorie diet) (very very unhealthy)

-Workout 6 days a week

-Eat between 1,400-1,700 calories a day

-Go 100% vegan

-Take Oxyelite Pro, CLA, kelp, L-carnitine, B-12, coconut oil, fish oil, and maybe a few other supplements

-Eat low sugar, high protein, high fiber, normal carbs

-Eat a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables
 
Welcome to the forum! During school, I worked at a GNC as well (briefly) because I was interested in learning about products and supplements, but was really unimpressed with how they ran things, so that didn't last very long!
