Seated Barbell Twists

Does anybody do these? They're supposed to work your obliques pretty well i guess. I've been looking for other oblique exercises other than weighted sidebends cuz those don't seem to really be working.

I never found twists to hit my obliques right, I like the side-bends more, so I'm the wrong guy to ask. THe best exercise that I've found is laughing really hard. And not giggling, I'm tallking about the doubling-over-and-drooling kinda laughing.

So anyone else tried these? Sidebends just dont' seem to work anymore, probably because i've been doing them forever. Also, if i want my obliques just to look better, like Brad Pitt's in Fight Club, not like those guys in the Bowflex commercials, should i be doing weighted exercises for my obliques? If not, i'll probably just do twisting crunches on a decline bench.

Biggie,
Forget the twists. Try a classic exercise with a new "twist"--remember the old reverse ab curl where you lay down on the floor and you hold someone's ankles and they whip your feet down and you resist? Well, instead, bend your knees at 90 degrees (pull towards you) and bend your ankles at 90 degrees. Now, while laying on your back and yuor lowerbody flexed in these two positions, hold on to a fixed object (bar, someone's ankles) and curl yuor trunk up. Try to bring yuor knees as close to your face as possible. Its like you are folding yourself in half. This exercsie is excellent--and tough if done correctyly! It wil hit your external obliques hard! If you can't figure it out, check out the exercise on my website on the second video preview! Yes thats me performing them!!

I dont know what a barbell twist is. For my obliques I do wood choppers, reverse wood choppers and dumbell twist/bulgarian sit up. The dumbell twist is where you stay at 45 degree angle and hold a light dumbell and put it down on one side of your body. Then keeping your arms out straight, lift it up in the air in an ark to place it on the other side, Do as many as you can without it touching the floor.

At first try with 6-10lbs cos its much harder than you think.
