Scoliosis and exercise?

Hi,

I have scoliosis, it's not VERY bad, I can't remember which degree. But it does give me a lot of discomfort/pain. I cannot really find anything on the internet regarding scoliosis and exercise, apart from yoga...yoga...yoga.

My doctor has warned me off high impact exercise and running on the beach...
what does that leave me with?

I have been doing cycling each morning on a stationary bike, which is good, but so boring if that is all I have...

Any advice would be appreciated. I'm new here and was wondering if anyone had similar experiences?

Thanks. B :)

I'm surprised your dr. told ya to be careful of high impact stuff, do you have any other health concerns?? Anyway, I have scoliosis also, more than 40degree, so I know what ya mean- one of my shoulders always aches and if I sit wrong my back aches. Uggh. Totally unfair! For the record, I hate yoga, lol. I lovelovelove the crosstrainer at the gym, and the rowing machines also. I've never been told not to do something exercise wise, but fish oil and back and shoulder exercises have helped a lot.
Hope that helps! :)
