Save Lean Body Mass

I have been using the weight watchers system to take off some excess wt. (about 100 lbs to take off) and I have lost about 25 pounds over the last 2 months. Using body measurements I appear to have lost about 60% fat and 40% lean body mass. Is this normal and if so how much lean body mass can I expect to loose? Is there a way to effectively continue to loos fat and maintain the lean body mass? I am trying to set up a realistic target weight to work towards.
I am currently doing a mixture of Weight lifting and aerobics as part of the wt loss plan.

Hi bwc..CONGRATULATIONS!!!

I'm not an expert and please someone correct me if I'm wrong. Now that weightwatchers has given you a jump start maybe you can start incorporating 'unpackaged' whole foods that will give you a good protein/carb/fat ratio.

From what I've read around here, you must eat if you want to lose weight and gain (keep) muscle, it's just a matter of finding a good program. Try switching your routine every few weeks or so, slowly increasing your weights and using a good HIIT routine for cardio. You may want to check with a physician to make sure it's ok for you to do this but it sounds like you've been at it for a little bit already.

Good luck :)
